We ate dinner here and arrived around 7.45pm. Whilst the waitress did warn us about the >45 minutes wait for pizza, she asked if we wanted to order some entrees or pasta in the mean time while waiting for the pizza. We did order an entree, a pasta and a scallopini, and requested they come before the pizza as what the waitress had suggested. The one entree came about 30minutes after ordering. But the pasta, scallopini and pizza came 1 hour later at 9.15pm (1.5hr since we ordered). If we had known that the rest of the food were going to take that long, we would have reconsidered dining here as we have a 5 year old daughter, who was exhausted by the time her pasta arrived. People who came in between 8.45pm-9.15pm had their pasta served before ours came. The pasta & veal scallopini was so-so and the pizza was extremely salty. The only thing which was decent was the Arancini funghi entree. By the time we finished eating, it was around 9.45pm. Whilst the servers were polite (thus 2 stars), I don’t think I will be dining here again. We were too tired to even think about dessert in fear it would have taken another 1.5 hours to arrive.

Visited several times since 2019 and the quality of our meals and service has been consistently high. Non-pretentious welcoming atmosphere. Delicious traditional Italian food. Generous serves. Marinara Risotto, Calabrese pasta and Calzone top picks at very reasonable prices. Freshly grated parmesan is a bonus!! 😁 Only small negative is the aircon could be better and the background music quieter and more suited to "dining". Otherwise Cafe Di Roma is a wonderful, authentic Italian eatery and a standout staple for classic Italian dining on Prospect Road, Adelaide. Highly recommend. Thanks to the owner/top chef and brilliant staff 😍 Delicious!! 🍝

I was having a discussion with a friend of mine at my local pub the Reepham Hotel! We were discussing pizzas and what is the best in Adelaide! He (wade oh) told me before you declare what you think you know that might be the best, you need to try Cafe Di Roma they are Family owned with an Italian feel that makes you feel like you’re in Italy, just give em a go! We, My partner and I can confirm after our 4th visit the food is bloody good, Amazing in fact! We are now locals and it won’t be long until we have a pizza named after us! See you again & again ❤️Ben & Natalie 😀

For an Italian restaurant, I’d be embarrassed to work here and be Italian. Veal saltimbocca. This what was on the menu that was written on the black board that looked like it was wrote by a 3 year old “ Saltimbocca - tender veal slices with prosciutto in creamy pepper sauce. With either chips and salad or veg and mash.”

A traditional “saltimbocca” is thinly sliced veal dusted in flour shallow fried with sage and prosciutto with a white wine butter sauce.

Anyway I ordered their version of their “saltimbocca” it was very disappointing. I’m not actually sure why I ordered it. But theirs was big chunks of veal that hadn’t even been tenderized. You could see they had butterflied the meat but not even bothered to slice it completely where it had buckled up when it cooked and served on the plate. Then the prosciutto dumped on top like an after thought. My side salad that I had was awful, full of onion and 2 pieces of cucumber that looked like it was 5 days old. It was woody and looked slimy. The tomatoes in the salad were green. This is meant to be an Italian restaurant.

Our waiter didn’t bother to come over and ask how our meal was after receiving it and nobody bothered to ask when they collected our plates or took our money.

Safe to say I...

We went there for dinner and when we arrived the lovely waitress who served us made us feel very welcome and made it abundantly clear that if we wanted pizza there would be a wait of at least 1 hour. We were happy to wait and ordered some starters while we waited. They have us the choice of getting my daughter's kids meal as soon as it was ready or waiting till the pizza was done, and a couple times the waitress asked if we'd like to change our order and get something quicker.

The kids chicken cotoletta was delicious, and the of us shared Calabrese, Roma and Margherita pizzas. They were all delicious and worth the wait as it was a lovely evening sitting next to Prospect road, which was fairly quiet. For our starters we had arancini and a bowl of veggies, both of which were delicious and a good size.

When I went to pay the owner explained that they were short staffed because of COVID, and they had lots of takeaway pizza orders that night. It was a very nice meal and a very pleasant way to...
