Schnithouse O'Halloran Hill — Restaurant in Adelaide

Went to Schnithouse for tea, have been wanting to try for a few Months now, finally made a booking for 3 adults and 2 kids for a Birthday meal. Whilst the meals were nice, the service after, once we got home was not so great! We ordered through the tablet app (table 9), once we went to pay, we were asked which table, to which my wife replied by saying that table there, and showing her (She wasn't aware the table was No. 9 on the app, but the table No. on the table stand was 10). They then read out what we had ordered, to which we paid, all good so far. Once we got home, we received 2 missed phone calls before I could phone back, saying that we had forgotton to pay, and was this a mistake? I said that we had paid, I can see the purchase amount on our banking app, but I was told again that we hadn't paid. Again, we paid for what we had ordered and what they re-read back to us! I was then asked if I could go back and pay the difference of $45 odd, maybe the next day. I did disagree with this request. They said they would ring back, as they were trying to sort it out, to which they did, sort of, now telling us that we had paid for the wrong table, and the customers at the other table were trying to pay for their meal which we had apparently paid for! What I don't understand is that we paid for exactly what we had ordered, I was then told on the phone that we had paid for the wrong table, (but our food). Eventually they said that as it was their mistake and the owners had agreed that we didn't have to pay the $45. There looks to be an error in you tablet table App, the table numbers on the tables, and your billing system/staff, and if we paid for exactly what we ordered, why am I being asked to pay another $45? If you want me to go back and pay, out of principal, I will, although I guess we can't prove it is our missing $45, but either way, we won't be going back for a meal. A sour end to a lovely...

We were excited to book for a family celebration, and we were happy to support a new local business. We booked on line for 6pm, 10 people. The menu looked interesting and once we had navigated the tablet placed on the table to place our own orders on, the food came out reasonably quickly. I received my meal last on the table at 7.10pm. Imagine our surprise when the waiter came to the table at 7.20 pm and said they needed our table at 7.30pm. Only one person had finished their meal on the table, so they brought us out takeaway boxes to take our uneaten food home. There was nothing on the website when we booked to say that we would need to be done by 7.30pm, not any explanation of this when we arrived, just hit with it at 7.20pm! No chance to finish our meal, no chance to order or eat dessert. We were so embarrassed for our guests, and disgusted in being told to vacate our table while guests were still eating! We talked with our guests outside for awhile, and at 7.45pm the table which we vacated was still empty?? What on earth are you thinking Schnithouse? How very rude, and unprofessional. Did you need to empty the cafe so that you could send some staff home? I feel very offended by your actions, and I am disappointed that we chose the Schnithouse O’Halloran Hill for our family...

My Wife and I attended for an early dinner on Fri 16th May . This was the second time we have been here and the first time was excellent. Boy were we disappointed. We got to Schnithouse at around 5.30pm sat, checked out the menu and ordered at around 5.45pm. We ordered two main courses and a cheesy garlic bread. There were only 2 other tables occupied. One was a couple and the other was a couple and their children. Both tables got their main courses while we were waiting for our Garlic bread. 20 mins after ordering our garlic bread arrived. It got sent back as it was limp and totally under cooked. It was just melted cheese on raw bread. 15 mins later a new serving finally arrived and it was ok and just tasted like cheese with no hint of garlic. 40 mins after the garlic bread arrived our main courses finally made it to the table. It was not worth waiting for. Most of both courses went home to our dogs. On mine the prawns smelt a little dodgy and the "Sauce" was almost like wallpaper glue. It was thick and did not even flow. The so called sauce on my wife streak was of a similar consistency. What started out as a bit of a late treat for my Wifes birthday a few days prior turned into a very expensive disappointment.
