If I would give less I could. My partner and I were in for breakfast on 01/12/21. When we walked in the chef was swearing at the top of his lungs. Many uses of the F word. This was concerning considering the volume however we sat down and decided what to eat and I went up and was asked the table number. I advised table 36 but was told in no uncertain terms that I could not possibly be table 36. Anyway I went back and got the number and took it to show which table we were on… table 36. I ordered our meals which came promptly however my partners meal was incorrect. The waiter, who I found out later was the manager, took it back. Within seconds a torrent of abusive language came from the kitchen. We were sitting around the back furthest away from the kitchen but could hear it clearly. “F you, Fing idiots, Fing bastards” which I assumed was directed at us for returning our incorrect meal. I’d never heard such language in a public restaurant. There were several children much closer than us and they would have heard this barrage clearly. I went up to the counter and asked for the manager to complain during which time the chef came near and I directed my complaint to him directly advising that he needed a major attitude change and told him in no uncertain terms that this behaviour was completely unacceptable. I reminded them that there were several children who would have heard his language. Anyway they both apologised. A few minutes later my partners correct meal was delivered.
PS Wow the ego you have to think we would ever come back there. That’s the response I expected and no there is absolutely no exaggeration. No sign of regret from you but more aggression again. You’ve just proved my point. I didn’t even mention the attitude and snide remark you made when delivered the correct meal. We’ve been coming for over 30 years and have seen the degradation in food quality and customer service over the last few years culminating in yesterday’s fiasco. The only reason we ever came there lately was for...
Read moreVery disappointing breakfast for my adult son's birthday breakfast treat!
When I mentioned at the ordering counter that the hot BF menu was a little difficult for vegetarians (especially those that don't eat eggs), and queried any other possibilities the comeback was not very customer service oriented or helpful. In fact I felt like it was a little aggressive and I was the problem being vegetarian - unlike the majority of places where there are several options available. I did not want to cause a scene so bowed out politely. Outcome - my son ordered reluctantly but I could not find a suitable choice so I only ordered coffee rather than intended breakfast as well . My son's smashed avo (minus egg please) was the most basic unimaginative and tasteless plate ever seen in Australia or overseas: 3 pieces of hard bare toast on the plate with 3 sachet packets of butter to be self applied and a stand alone mound of smashed avo - no garnish, no salad greens, no tomato, no feta, no condiment or sauce - really - and no question asked as to this is what it will lbe like so would you like to pay for add on extras?. Sadly our 2 coffees delivered same time as meal were just luke warm at best. May I suggest looking into ideas for easy vegetarian breakfast items like for example zucchini and corn fritters with dressing, vegetarian bean burrito, vegetarian sausages with baked beans and sourdough, crepes with ricotta, spinach tomatoes and basil etc, tofu mushroom onion capsicum spinach fry on rye.......so many possibilities (as well as offering for other dietary needs) ? As a local who often visits for lunch and dinner with family, will hope you may consider this...
Read moreAppalling service. I got caught in the pouring rain with my 1 year old in a pram, so headed there for a warm drink & to wait for the rain to subside. I struggled to get through the doors with my pram & not one person offered to help, even though 3 different staff members walked right past me. I then stood at the counter as waiter after waiter looked at me, then ignored me. There was even one girl who stood right next to me at the counter, looked at me, then picked up a highlighter & started fiddling with it. I could not believe it! Finally another girl from the other side of the restaurant came over to me - it looked as though she was about to go on a break, but she was the only one that asked if I had been served. I responded that I hadn’t but I was not going to stay as I had been ignored by so many others (and I’m not exaggerating - I counted 7 staff members around & not one person even bothered to say something to me). It doesn’t take much to say “won’t be a moment” or “how can I help you?” I don’t think I’m asking too much. This was around 3:30pm, so not in the middle of a lunch rush or anything. Don’t bother - there are so many other cafes in Norwood with much...
