Unfortunately our experience wasn't as cozy and enjoyable as expected. The venu ambience was cozy, although lacked in dining layout. Place needs a thorough clean.

Bar and waiter staff were lovely and exceedingly helpful. Although a roll-of-the-eyes from the female chef was unnecessary. When a menu states the burger buns are brioche, you would expect the bun to have be covered in seeds. I don't deserve such rudeness in spite of an already debilitating disease that restricts me from consuming seeds. The high chair had to be cleaned down as it was sticky, these should be cleaned before the next patron is to use them.

Unfortunately the seeds had to be removed by hand before my buger was enjoyed. Although to add to that unfortunate mishap, the chips were terrible and the schnitzel wasn't very enjoyable either. I was so hungry, that i tried to enjoy it but it was very below average. Taste, size was to that of a woolies frozen packet version, burnt by the chef. I also asked for mushroom gravy, not tomato sauce. So i don't know why i got both as the menu didn't state the meal will be served with a complimentary dish of tomato sauce. Although i have nothing to fault over the kids chicken nuggets, except the chips it was served with were very hard for our 1yo. Pub chips should be thick and fluffy. Not thin and hard.

Considered this pub for it's location, voucher in the entertainment book, hadn't been here before. Suburb name doesn't mean quality. I have had far better meals, quality and quantity respectively at pubs/bistros/cafe's in Davoren park. The north know how to make excellent pub grub.

Won't be returning...

Rating: ★☆☆☆☆ Attended a Gather Round event held in the function room next to the Norwood Hotel, so we chose to eat at the hotel beforehand for convenience. Unfortunately, location is about the only thing it has going for it.

The interior is extremely dated—almost like a time capsule from the 80s. Old furniture, worn flooring, tired decor, and even booth graffiti that looks like it’s been there for decades (see photos). Maybe not all dining locations were the same as ours but I can only review from my experience.

Ordering was a mess. One person on one register taking all food and drink orders. After each order, they’d leave to make the drinks before serving the next customer. With big groups and long drink orders ahead of us, this made for an unnecessarily long wait. Meanwhile, several bar staff stood around—could’ve easily sorted drinks and delivered them to tables. Completely inefficient.

Food was poorly presented, thrown together without care. Plates looked as worn out as the furniture. The staff serving seemed disinterested at best. One of our meals was dropped from height onto the table—more of a thud than a delivery.

Can’t recommend it and definitely won’t be returning. If you’re looking for a meal before an event, walk 100 metres in any direction along The Parade—you’ll find far better. The one star is purely for proximity to the...

We attended the Norwood Hotel for dinner and show this evening the service at the bar was poor 4 staff members no attention to customers our meals were brought out to us and not even placed in front of us. We then went into the live band show and gained a table with friends prior to the bands starting we had drinks on our table and went up to dance only to return with 5 rude women sitting at our table and our drinks gone with exception being our bottle of sparkling water. I asked the ladies to move this is our table to get a mouth full of abuse a and told to speak to the bar staff they refused to move as my friends returned from dancing they too we sworn at and physically attacked. The actions of functions manager Megan was appalling moving the ladies to the next table in the absence of the patrons also dancing whom we know. Her words were I am moving them on clearly not out after of the.venue after the verbal and physical abuse my 2 friends and I received. The matter was dealt with so badly I left with Trudy a band member and came home. I will be taking this matter further on Monday morning with the hotel manager abuse is unacceptable and I will not tolerate the poor handling of this matter by Megan who clearly has no experience in complaint handling and customers rights to abuse and being...

Firstly, carparking was around the side, but bit of a walk for the injured or elderly. They do have car spaces reserved for hotel customers. Well, what a nice rustic hotel and stunning building. Had our hopes up. Nice staff at the bar. Not many people here and most tables were empty so found us a nice corner to be seated to admire the bookcases and contents. Food ordering was via the QR scan app me&u which I like a lot. No wine selections on the app or specials however. ??? The pub grub had a nice list of menu items, not extensive. Only rump and porterhouse steak. No other options. It came with a free garlic bread. They cooked the porthouse very well on point for a med-rare but it was cold very quickly and then chewy. The asparagus on the plate was huge because the cook did not cut off the wooded ends so made it a bit of a mission to spit it out in the napkin discretely. The guiness beef pie đŸ„§ was not nice. Flavours were good, peas were hard, crust was thick and hard to bite so not a fan. Will try them again another time as reading the reviews here a lot of people are rating this hotel food high.

Went this evening to get some steaks. Overall the hotel itself is in a lovely location and has lovely outdoor seating. Ordered two steaks medium rare, a rump $30 and a tbone $42. These both came out medium/well done My partner went to inform staff as from working in hospitality it can be hard to know quality of meals going out in high turnover businesses but assumed they would like to know. Their bar tender told my partner he was incorrect and it is medium. He informed her we did not want them remade or a refund, purely to let them know. She was quite rude and abrupt with him. For future interactions I recommend staff do not treat clientele as though they are stupid. It was a disappointing experience and we would not recommend to others. (Photos attached to show that they are, in fact, not medium rare)
