Siam 49 Thai Restaurant — Restaurant in Adelaide

We were one of the regular customers who drive 30 mins to your restaurant because my wife loved your thai food.

Only 3-4 tables were occupied and mostly finished off by the time we ordered & our food came. Around 8;30pm.

We explicitly & verbally ordered Veg Tofu Noodles with Peanut Sauce but the lady (Ora or some similar name) mistakenly wrote Stir Fry Veg with Peanut Sauce. (+Spring rolls but no issue with that)

20 mins later, they served us 2 Stir Fry Veg with Peanut Sauce. We were unhappy to we told that lady that we want Veg noodles, yes we did not mention the word Pad Thai Noodles but we mentioned Veg Noodles. There was clearly some misunderstanding. We requested that can you just get some pad thai noodles & mix the whole stir fry with that and serve us. She goes & called the other lady with short hair from the front desk. That lady has always been very rude, unhappy, not smiling, not even 1% customer service, highly unprofessional. She comes and asks what's the matter, we said the whole story, and she says no we can't mix noodles with stir fry as noodles does not have peanut sauce, we keep convincing her that we don't want to waste the food, pls just mix it for us and charge us whatever extra u want, but she kept resisting back and every sentence she spoke becomes louder and louder, we said please calm down, I'm not yelling at you. Then she says if you want to leave the restaurant, just stand up and leave. We were totally in shock! That was the most unprofessional and rude behaviour I've ever faced in a restaurant in 15 years.

Still we remained calm and said please don't talk to us, you don't know how to deal with a situation, bring your manager, we are want talking to you.

So she rushed to the kitchen and brought another lady outside, no name badge, comes and hears us and we repeat everything to her. She did not even understand English properly. She said let me check what I can do.. meanwhile this short-hair girl wanted to fight back but we said please ask her to leave as she is rude and we are not dealing with her at all.

5-7 mins later, kept waiting ⌚! She never comes out of the kitchen. We decided not to touch the food and go. We had an option to just walk out, still we decided to go to the counter and pay for the food. The first lady is at the counter, giving us the full bill, no discount and no compensation!! And yet we without any further argument, paid for the whole 3 dishes we ordered (2 stir fry + 1 spring rolls).

This was the most PATHETIC, LUNATIC, UNPROFESSIONAL AND RUDE behaviour faced by us in 15 years in Australia.

You lost a loyal customer and you will lose a lot of potential customers which we always spread your word around to our friends but now this made everything worse for your business!!

I wish you would terminate that front staff with short hair who does not know how to deal with basic customer service, also change your manager, train staff with basic English lessons and customer service if you don't wish to shut down this business.

So 10 of us attended this restaurant for my partners birthday 🎂 also I do order from them occasionally on doordash...now I.must say there food was absolutely 💯 disgusting the portions were small the soft shell crab was all flour with no crab meat our guest were disgusted where we complained and they said that's how it's made then the manager came out and she was rude arrogant and no social or manager skills whatsoever basically said if u don't like our food go elsewhere and don't order thru us. Now this was the straw that broke the camels back to even have the audacity to say this there service revolves around uber and doordash where we couldn't even get a plate taken a a refill cayse they were too busy dealing with deliveries...my advice is go to vietnam on Addison these people are absolutely 💯 unprofessional despicable and rude made us pay for the food but let me say I will never ever recommend or enter there premises again. I also told two people outside to go elsewhere and they did. Siam u should be ashamed of the embarrassment situation u put me in in front of my family and friends who also will never ever go there again shame on the manager that if ur reading this your boss should relieve you of your job and go work at maccas which is still out of your league....u will run this business to the ground also two of my other friends who I went there recently shared the sane experience so totally dissapointed and disgusted with Siam 49 a big ZERO RATING FROM...

Where do I start? I got my first order through Door dash and we ordered 4 dishes (cost $80-$90 before their welcoming discount) - none of them was delicious. It doesn’t have the any flavour. I accidentally found one of my veggie dish (the grilled prawn salad aka pla goong) has got insect (looks like cockroaches or other insects) over it and so I freaked out and immediately took them out and put them into our kitchen sink. I didn’t eat the food as I felt sick seeing my food contaminated with insects. Wish I could make a complaint to DoorDash like I could do with Uber eats … never again. It doesn’t even deserve any stars at all

P.S. Not veggie fish - but veggie dish (the grilled prawn salad - pla going) had insect in it. I was very annoyed. I thought I would give Doordash a go by trying a different Thai restaurant. I chose Siam 49 because of the positive Google review. Little did I know that my prawn salad has insect on it. The roast pork stir fry was greasy - unlike what I tried in a different restaurant. The soft shell crab in chilli sauce in which the chilli sauce tasted like Tom Yum. I would have expected more.
