St. Georges Bakehouse Port Adelaide — Restaurant in Adelaide

Have been here a couple of times 1st time was great, ordered chips and gravy and I found my favourite local place to get them. 2nd time around, my partner and I got chips and gravy.. The chips were put in the takeaway container with bare hands who mind you, the lady had been handing money and taking food out to other people dining in. The gravy was horrible. We complained and asked for a fresh set of chips that hadn’t been touched with bare hands and we got nothing but attitude from the lady. Anyways, this was a good 5-6 months ago, went back today to try for a 3rd time. We ordered and whilst we waited, went to get a boost juice, went back to the bakery and chips still weren’t ready, went and looked in a clothing store and still had to wait for the chips to be ready once we returned. The young girl who brought them out to us had a filthy look on her face like she hated being there. So rude. The same girl had also picked up a bread roll from the cupboard and put in microwave with bare hands 30 seconds after handling money from a customer. Who’s ever that bread roll was, we feel sorry for you

These guys have no sense of cleanliness at all!! Be careful and make sure you watch what they do with your food before eating it. Or better yet, don’t waste your time...

Nicely newly opened!! The decor here is fresh, neat and chic!! Nice to have a place like this in the neighbourhood. Don’t have much time to stay so ordered take away. Enjoy the veggie breakfast (especially the hash brown, there r many avocados slice in here, sadly I am too full to finish too😅. The bread is a little damped as the spinach and mushroom are placed on them) and the iced coffee!!

Edit: recent deduct on the rating slightly. I really like to have or grab my breakfast here in the morning. But I don’t feel like I am having the a great service all the time. I understand people are people and we all feel moody sometimes. But pls try to smile 😀 a little? Or wait until our service are finished before serving next person (it’s not even that busy). Very Disappointed. Until today, I used to love the coffee in St. Georges Bakehouse. This afternoon while waiting for my coffee the lady making it, (she always has a scarf in her hair), was writing the cake order for the next day, as I was waiting, she kept going to the sandwich bar (not wearing gloves) and was picking at the cold meat and stuffing it in her mouth, she then (while making my coffee) kept eating bits of chicken that she had put near the coffee machine.

The end result was her dirty/greasy fingers all over the lid of my take away cup. I walked out of the mall and threw it in the bin. I guess she is an owner as an employee would not get away with this...
