What a great place to visit. It was so clean and well laid out. Entry was reasonably priced that a family can afford to go there for a nice little day trip and the staff were friendly. You are able to climb into some of the aircraft and see how they are set up on the inside and as a bonus you can organise a tour of the cockpit of some of them if you're interested. Their museum had some very interesting local history on world wars, aircraft and flight histories and a section dedicated to women in aviation. There was even a small section on the rockets of Woomera. If you visit here, make sure you leave a whole day and take a brochure from the counter giving you a discount to the other local museums such as the railway and maritime museums. With a local brewery just down the street it was a really great way to end the afternoon.

My dad and I went in with rather little in the way of expectations but were amazed by the size and quality if the collections here. Far more aircraft than you would think could fit in the hangars including several you can walk inside and some you can even sit in the cockpit. Lots of informative displays, artwork from very talented local artists as well as plenty of staff around more than happy to delve into the history of a particular article. The front desk staff were also fabulous, gave us a very helpful guide to the museum along with some recommendations on what to look out for. Even if you're not an aviation history buff I would still recommend a visit you can spend a morning quite pleasantly just walking around.

Another thoroughly detailed and informative aviation museum with some cool rare birds mixed in with your garden variety awesomeness. Doesn't have the problem some other aviation museums have cramming in so many aeroplanes both at ground level and suspended from ceilings it's impossible to get a good squiz at any one because something else is obscuring your focus so you move to get a better angle then can't see it still because another display is in the way, etc. Pretty well laid out and highly sociable volunteers happy to yak. Good souvenir shop too, they also have engine start days. Easy way to spend a couple of hours soaking it all in.

WOW, truly enjoyed walking through the South Australian Aviation Museum, upon my experience, I fully recommend one goes to see out heritage. A couple of gentlemen volunteers asked if I wanted to have a look at closed off areas. My reply was yes, certainly, one was with the restoration shed. A few of the volunteers are working on a Farely airplane from pictures. I was advised there are only 4 left in the world. This one at Port Adelaide was found in the swamps of Port Pirie. Looked at a console of a spitfire made from scratch, I definitely recommend one goes to visit the Aviation Museum

I’m glad I visited this museum on the weekend. It's a popular spot and a great place to bring kids. You can see many unique planes, most of which are well-preserved, and some you can even enter and explore. The museum grounds have recently been upgraded with a larger parking area, making it more convenient for visitors. The best part is the friendly volunteers who are always eager to share interesting information about the exhibits. Overall, it's a fun and educational outing, and I highly recommend it for a weekend visit!

Fun for the whole family and not expensive. We were able to look inside different planes and helicopters. Children under 4 are allowed to use an aeroplane pusher cart which I give a 10/10, my youngest loved it. There was lots of history in the 2 hangers and I recommend coming to check it out. Good place to bring children who may be sensitive of hearing, there wasn't many people there so no lines or waiting turns. Due to covid some aircraft's are closed to sit in and play with, this did not affect our experience.
