overall a pleasant experience, staff were a little busy and we didn't have a booking so we were happy to wait and lucky to get a table however once we were seated we seemed to be forgotten about.. no menus, no direction I.e."order at the counter when you're ready" but hey let's face it I've dined out enough to work some things out for myself. order placed and bar staff were super pleasant to deal with while collecting our drinks. back to our table and our entrees arrived promptly. 'warm pizza bread' was an absolute delight !! I'll be back for this alone.. sooo good!! hummus and fried chickpea plate was unfortunately lacking a little. large cuts or carrot and celery battons accompanying the tiniest flat bread triangles.. I really could have given this a miss to be honest.. knowing we wanted to settle into conversation we asked for our mains to be held back while we savoured every moment of the delicious pizza bread. staff were accommodating and notified the kitchen of our request. 20 minutes passed and we were ready for our mains to be started, waitress was prompt and picked up on our subtle ques and organised for the chefs to fire away.. 350gm scotch fillet steak cooked to perfection, beautiful crust and a nice hit of salt was a beautiful bite. broccoli still has a tiny crunch which in my book is perfect however what they called mashed potato made baby jesus cry.. instant mash!!! you ruined a perfect plate with instant mash!!! 😒 second meal was grilled snapper fillet with chips and salad - fish and chips a classic pub dish that didn't quite hit the mark either.. poorly presented, fish was overcooked and rubbery.. I could pick the whole fillet up and wiggle it.. so after 1 mouthful, the rest of remained for the food scraps bin. chips were well seasoned and the salad was nice looking however it unfortunately could have been fresher.. soggy tomato, limp lettuce and some sad, sad cucumber let down the beautiful things that accompanied them. overall I'll give the food 3 stars, service was saved by the young lady at the bar and so 4 stars are awarded. the busy, cosy atmosphere was great for a pub bistro and deserves a solid 4 stars. all in all I will be back but probably only if I am in the area again. and it'll all be worth it to try that warm pizza...
Read more7 of us booked here for a meal. 6 meals arrived and after 15 minutes with numerous waiting staff ignoring our table completely, we drew attention to a missing meal! "Oh let me check with the kitchen". Another 5 minutes - then " It'll be here in 5 mins". No apology or explanation. The meal (grilled fish) finally arrives - all 6 other members of our party have virtually finished their meals by now. The 'grilled' fish bears no sign of a grill but appears steamed. On eating it, I find it is grossly undercooked and still raw in places! I left most of it. Waiting staff simply say they'll report my experience to the kitchen! We get no further apology or even an offer of a complimentary coffee. Mistakes happen - it's how they are handled that leaves a lasting impression. And here the "Goody" is a real baddie. Not impressed and unlikely to be back in any time soon. UPDATE: Management have since been in touch with us and acknowledged this was well below their expectations. They have provided a generous meal voucher in recognition of the shortcomings we encountered. Based on this, we will give them another chance. At least they have reacted and responded positively....
Read moreI’m not usually one to write a negative review but after thinking of my experience I felt it was essential to give feedback. The elderly lady with brown hair who works in the gaming room was extremely rude with an unpleasant aura. She went out of her way to approach only myself out of the large group of people I was with to see my ID. I handed my ID over with no issues however once she gave it back to me, she then mumbled a comment after looking at my ID picture under her breath and stormed off. The mumbling under her breath demonstrates how unprofessional she is and maybe there is a need for some people skills training as it is evident she’s lacking greatly in this area to think it’s okay to make a personal comment about a patrons ID picture. This is very embarrassing behaviour for a woman of her age towards a young girl like myself who is more than 40 years her junior I’m sure. This judgemental behaviour is a huge concern, especially in a public place which is supposed to be an inviting and welcoming space. To be honest, if I was to go back to this venue and see her working in there, I would leave immediately which is unfortunate because this is one of...
