Walking into The Thai Guy, you're instantly transported into Thailand, with the most stunning atmosphere and authentic aromas. The service was exceptional, Jade and her team were attentive and just incredibly lovely. Then the food! Wow! I was so impressed, Chef Terry and his team have such a brilliant way of using traditional, authentic flavours and imparting them into traditional dishes with a new and exciting twist. By far the coolest and best pad thai I have ever had......you need to try their egg net pad thai hot plate. It will set the bar for pad thai forever. Their new black sriracha glaze pork ribs were just exceptional and melt in your mouth. Also must try their tom yum soda, it was super refreshing and the kaffir lime and lemongrass tang was divine. I loved my experience here, can't wait to come back

Ate at the restaurant this evening with a couple of friends. I ordered a prawn skewer and squid skewer for $24 for the 2. I didn’t want a simple garden salad for an extra $12 so ordered a side- papaya salad for $22. The skewers came out with 1 prawn on 1 skewer! And a smallish squid on the other which was satisfactory. I asked the waitress about the 1 prawn and she advised it is a king prawn and that is how it comes - not value for money in my book - 2 bites and it’ was gone! Another prawn and I would’ve been happier. My meal was overpriced. Flavours were great. Wish you well and can only improve.

The staff and owner are genuinely warm and welcoming. The guy at the counter was knowledgeable and even suggested drinks he could personally prepare. The lady was also very accommodating—she checked in to see how I was enjoying everything. I also noticed the kitchen staff working with passion, which was great to see. The ambiance has an authentic Thai vibe that really sets the mood. I got to try some of the new dishes on their menu—my favorites were the dumplings, Thai Festival Fried Chicken, and the Salt and Pepper Squid. Highly recommended!

If I could give ZERO stars I would! DO NOT IGNORE THE POOR REVIEWS!!!

EDITED TO ADD IN RESPONSE I would be more than happy to share the true story, it just so happens that my toddler had turned my video on and captured the interaction. I would be more than happy to post that publicly. The video quality isn’t great (mostly a toddlers hand) but you can clearly hear the conversation, should I post it to your instagram?

I am a local and thought I would give this place a shot (ignoring the bad reviews). I really wish now I hadn’t bothered. I called and placed a take away order after having looked up their takeaway menu on their website. I ordered pad Thai (on the menu for $20) and a loaded friend rice combo (on the menu for $26). I confirmed when I placed the order that the cost was $46. The young man taking the order said he didn’t have it in front of him but that sounded right.

When I arrived the bill had the pad Thai as $25 and the fried rice as $28. I pointed out the pad Thai price and the guy serving (who was lovely) went and spoke to his manager. I could hear them talking and it was obviously tense, his manager clearly sounded agitated by the question. He awkwardly returned and it was obvious he wasn’t going to sell it at the price their online menu indicated. I highlighted the other price was incorrect too and offered to speak to the manager for him (I didn’t want him to have to go through what I’d just heard again). She came out and was immediately aggressive with me saying that was their July menu. I was trying to show her on my phone that it didn’t say July menu and was the only takeaway menu on their site. She kept trying to grab my phone and when I resisted she said she thought it was hers (I have no idea why she would think I would be holding her phone). At one point I had to ask her not to be so aggressive with me (I was also holding my toddler). When I said that she accused me of being aggressive which I had absolutely not been. At that point I said I wasn’t taking the food now and left.

I love Thai food and would have potentially been a regular because I live so close but I don’t think I have ever been treated that badly by a staff member at a restaurant.

I am shocked this place is still in business with someone like this in a management role. Her behavior was disgusting. Please don’t make the mistake I did, listen to the poor reviews and avoid, they are spot on (though I can’t comment on the food because I’ve now never had it). I will be telling everyone I know at my local daycare, school and sporting groups to...

1.5 hour wait on main course because there was a printer malfunction but we weren’t told about this until we questioned where our food was. Next thing you know one of the workers, the middle age lady with the blonde hair was awfully rude to us. Unsure if she has any decent customer service as her ability to show it was definitely not there. Not once an apology was given for their lack of communication. Would not recommend coming here at all. I am extremely disappointed with the customer service.

Edit in response to the reply received - Thanks for getting back to me. I just want to make it clear that we were offered a bottle of wine which was suppose to be complimentary for the month of December for bookings over 5, this was also offered at 8:20 when we were there at 7. We declined this as none of us were drinking. We were not offered any other beverages by your staff. We only found out about a printer malfunction as we questioned where our mains were at 8:10 when we ordered at 7. No one specifically came to our table to inform us. Maybe you did apologise but none of the 6 people at the table heard it. It is quite a shame about this experience as the food was lovely. We do wish you the...

If you’re going out to eat, you’re going out for the artisanship that is involved in creating food and the theatre of the hospitality otherwise you would be eating a sandwich at home. Value when eating out is the satisfaction of the palate not in the satiation of hunger.

We always base our reviews of a Thai restaurant on their ability to execute 2 dishes

Green Curry Chicken Massaman Beef

For me a warning bell is always when a Thai restaurant asks you about spice level on any given dish as on so many occasions I have had GCC that compromised on flavour to appeal to vanilla spice levels.

Not the case this was excellent.

The Massaman is the best in the area by several orders. Depth of flavour was there and there was only one piece of beef that had any dryness and it was a wok hei type of dryness not a sitting in a microwave dryness.

Service staff were excellent as we rolled up with no booking. Service was relatively quick given how busy it was.

I would recommend this for anyone who values flavour...
