Vesuvio Pizza Bar — Restaurant in Adelaide

Well… we were down in Adelaide for the gather round and came across this hidden gem!!! vesuvio is not only a restaurant but a living and breathing piece of nostalgia!!! The pizza is incredible. The smell of the wood oven and fresh flour is only the beginning. The pizza is so fresh, using the best ingredients and was cooked to perfection each time. We had pizzas from there 3 times during our stay and WOW! It actually brought a tear to my eye how much the pizzas reminded me of back home in Italy. Just like Nonna makes them.. gentleman, you are all stars. We are going to miss your pizzas back in Melbourne and we hope to see you all very soon! Please come and visit Vesuvios! You will not be disappointed!!! The food is so fresh and well priced! It really is one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to in Adelaide! The pizza is world class and would beat any pizza shop in Melbourne!

Ordered 2 pizzas and garlic bread to eat in. We needed to make a couple of changes and the person taking the order was easily confused. A better command of English would have helped with the communication. Garlic bread came out after the pizzas - normally would be served as an appetiser to have while waiting. Pizzas were not very tasty and toppings not very generous. There was also a family waiting for take away when we got there. Toddler was playing with salt shaker and a knife. Also pulled at the tablecloth. This child appeared to have a cold. After they left we told the person working that the child had had the salt shaker in their mouth. Ordered a pizza for delivery 12-8-23 at 510 pm - provided details of delivery address and was promised eta around 6 pm Called Vesuvio again at 6.15 pm and verified my $65 party pizza was en route but guy said it’s just going in oven now !!! He then said that if I wanted to speak to the boss and I said how long would delivery be as I live 15 mins from pizza bar - the reply was another hour / I said please cancel order as that’s a two hour wait from placing my order / the boss abruptly hung up on me - it’s never been the same here since Frank retired - never again - not going to bother with these ill mannered so called pizza restaurant staff and management- poor customer relations unsatisfied...
