A true gem.
Located just around the corner from the QEH, The Woodville Hotel is just the respite you need away from the hospital, if you're unlucky enough to be staying there. Or, if you're one of the lucky ones looking for a great place to eat, then The Woodville Hotel is definitely worth your consideration. Owned and operated by the same family since 1974 and recently renovated, The Woodville Hotel is a fresh and vibrant place to prop. Greeted by lovely and extremely polite wait staff, we were shown to our table in the lounge area where full table service is a refreshing change. We were offered a comprehensive beverage list with a great selection of cocktails, unfortunately, we were not made aware of food and drink specials and I only found out about my discount at the register. I'm sure I could've fitted in another cocktail... or three! The food menu isn't some vast sprawling encyclopaedia of crap, it's carefully curated and reflects the venues various eating areas - casual, semi formal, formal etc. I started with a Margarita that I found a little too sweet for me, but would no doubt please the masses - especially if they're not Margarita 'snobs' like myself.
The menu was very tempting, but I've been stuck in the hospital and NEEDED a steak, so the Stone Grill was definitely the way to go. Known as 'Ishiyaki' in Japan, don't let this 'self cook' way of dining put you off, it really is no hassle at all. There's no rush to eat as the hot stone cooks the meat relatively slowly unless you activity cook it. Eating your steak this way means you get absolutely the most tender, hot and juicy steak cooked perfectly every bite.
There are two steaks in the pictures, the 200g eye fillet and the 400g rump. Both were delicious and my choice would normally be the fillet, but the rump was the winner on price, size and flavour.
Prices were reasonably high and I paid $46 to cook my own meal, however, it was worth every penny and I felt it was good value for money given the quality of my meal and the excellent service.
Highly...
Read moreThe Woodville Hotel's gaming pokie bar is an absolute gem that left me thoroughly impressed. From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted by a vibrant atmosphere that was nothing short of captivating. The pokie room itself was a haven for gaming enthusiasts, boasting an impressive array of top-notch machines that beckoned with promise.
Cleanliness is clearly a priority here, as the immaculate surroundings reflected a level of care that is truly commendable. What truly stood out, however, was the impeccable service provided by the staff. Notably, the bar woman exuded both attractiveness and kindness, making the experience all the more delightful.
One particular highlight was their ingenious reward system. Withdrawing just $5 granted me a reward ticket, and the innovative stamped square approach (8 stamps equating to a meal ticket) was a delightful way to engage patrons. Moreover, the incorporation of jcard rewards added an extra layer of excitement to my visit, ensuring that every moment spent at the Woodville Hotel felt incredibly rewarding.
In conclusion, the Woodville Hotel's gaming pokie bar is a true gem that seamlessly blends an excellent gaming experience with exceptional service and innovative rewards. A visit to this establishment is not only about enjoying top-quality gaming machines but also about being enveloped in an ambiance that keeps you coming back for more. Kudos to the Woodville Hotel for creating an unforgettable experience that leaves a...
Read moreWhat a hole! All those lovley renos for nothing. Service was horrible, a moaning, snarling server who really didnt want to be in the bistro. Meal deal was a disgrace, $15.50 is not an excuse for sub standard food. I had the fish and 5 chips. The fish was a slither, they could barely spare it, must have weighed 50g. My friend had calamari that was like a boot. When she was asked how it was, and responded with 'Not very good'. The staff member rolled her eyes and grunted away. She made serveral snide remarks to the other staff member, about various customers while we were waiting to be served. This was my first time out for a long time, I was looking forward to it, but my experience wasn't nice and I certainly wont bother there again, its pretty local, but not worth my time. There are people that are struggling for jobs and buisinesses closing, this attitude and horrid food might fly for the seniors that habbitually visit, but wont go far in the long run. DONT BOTHER HERE AT ALL! VIAL ATMOSPHERE, VIAL FOOD. Save ya cash...
