Today was our first time visiting Zenhouse and we can’t believe that it’s taken us so long to visit! This is straight to the top of our fave vegan friendly places in Adelaide. We had a lovely introduction by the owner upon being seated, who went through the menu for us and made some delicious suggestions. Once we ordered, the food came out quickly and was super hot and delicious! We ordered a few entrees, the Creamy Corn Soup, Honey Not Chicken and Mongolian Not Beef with the Zenhouse Fried Rice. It’s honestly impossible to pick a favourite, the entrees were amazing (I loved the VSFC, closest I’ve ever found to KFC crispy strips!) and the mains were both super tasty! We also indulged in dessert and both were perfect. The price for a full 4 course experience for my wife and I including a soft drink each was just over $100 which was super cheap and we are already planning our return to try the other delectable items the owner told us about! Do yourself a favour, if you love food of any kind but especially plant based food you HAVE to visit!

100% vegan restaurant with a huge variety of dishes! We tried many and they were all very good! The noodle soup was delicious, and the main courses were generous in size. There’s also a wide selection of teas to choose from, with the chance to smell and see the different tea and herbal blends up close! One of the restaurant’s most distinctive features is definitely the kindness and attentiveness of the waiter, who was ready to give recommendations and chat in a very friendly way! All the staff were cheerful and welcoming, even though we stayed a little past the 9pm closing time! So happy to have found such a great vegan restaurant! See you soon 💚

We were welcomed with such hospitality and we were explained the dishes and how they were prepared. Our every question about the dishes were explained to us. It was my first time to a vegan restaurant. The specialty of course is their signature dish the Salt and Pepper Abalone Mushroom. They are proud of the investment right from growing to the end product of delivering a delightful dish. I had an amazing experience and would definitely go there again.

Very disappointed by my visit, when I was very excited to eat at Zenhouse too… I went in last night (12th October 2025) with only 2 other tables there at 6pm and 1 table was already eating. I had to get my own menu and table water because I was ignored for such a long time from front of house. My order went in at exactly the same time as the other table, which had a 7 pax, but instead of staggering orders efficiently, I received my first entree over 30 minutes later. I hadn’t eaten all day, so I ordered an entree, soup and a main, but somehow got my main before my soup and the main size was poor, which was a surprise from what I seen from their photos. Only the rice that came with the main was the quantity from their photos. I finally got my corn soup after an hour of being there and much to my surprise, there was 1 whole piece of soya chicken within the corn soup!

I attempted to calmly speak to staff about service and then also the food portions, and was hoping to be offered a solution to the experience. The girl I spoke to just kept saying sorry, she also dobbed the kitchen in about having some big take away orders and that must be why they gave me very little. Standard of service says if you can’t offer the right quantity or quality for an order, then tell the customer and don’t serve it. She then said she’d speak to the kitchen, but I never heard anything back about the situation at all and as was further ignored from there. I had to approach them for the bill, as the 2 wait staff refused to make eye contact with me and I said I would like the soup removed off the bill because the whole night experience wasn’t really acceptable for standards. The girl not only started arguing with me over the request to remedy the situation, she actually said, “When I spoke to the kitchen, they said that’s just what they served”, like that was going to be an acceptable answer to my portion sizes not being adequate. I’ve actually been a Front of House Manager and Supervisor in my past, and I said I couldn’t believe we were having this conversation because how everything happened wasn’t acceptable standards by any means. She then went to speak to the kitchen and after another long wait, she finally came out and said they had agreed, but was sort of acting like I had been pulling her teeth. It truly shouldn’t be on the next customer to wear it after big take away orders have been fulfilled, and it’s also concerning a restaurant thinks it’s acceptable to cut their portions sizes down to fulfil orders afterwards. I’ve also had a look at some reviews on Google to see other people have had similar issues in the past and there’s even some photos of take away orders even who show the lack of portion sizes. That’s really not on, Zenhouse, to treat customers like this.

Also before I walked out the restaurant, there was a 2 pax table looking around not getting service a bit like myself and then when I left these people were also looking around concerned when they finally got to order, as it had been a long wait for their entrees to be served. There’s a pattern here and it’s really not a good look. Again, just unacceptable a restaurant thinks lowering their standards on service and food portions on customers is really disrespectful to the people investing in your restaurant. What a real shame because I had heard so many good things about Zenhouse, to then be met with such a disappointing and disheartening experience, and it looks like I wasn’t the only one. I was really hoping for a good experience, but I don’t think I’ll be back...

So , me and friends went to this restaurant on 18/07/24 evening around 6:30 pm . I actually insisted my friends to visit as I had a take away meal a while ago and it was ok . Based on that asked them to have dinner there . First of all it seemed bit busy and I expected the staff to take time before taking our order as I myself work at restaurant. But the female staff working front of the house took almost 20 mins to take order . She came after I stood up and called her . She took our order ( one burger , soup & noodles ) . It took 20 mins to serve soup . ( which was average) Then we started waiting for food from 7 pm . I waited till 8 pm . Then stood up to ask as we were starving and waited almost an hour after the soup . When I went to the counter the lady told me it still gonna take 20-30 mins . I told her we been waiting almost an hour . She said she can’t do anything about it other people are waiting too . I told her to cancel my order and pay for the soup . While paying I told her that it’s way too much time for 2 meals . She was rude and not even apologetic about anything . Worst ever experience at a dine in restaurant . Worst service . Front staff don’t even know how to deal with customer and how to say sorry if customer is suffering because of there own kitchen problems and delays . I am mentioning everything as I myself run a restaurant and the kind of experience you delivered in hospitality is not acceptable. If you ever need training happy to help you guy out . End of the day my evening got ruined and become a laughing stock for my friends as I insisted in first place ....
