My brother ordered two coffees for us, we waited over 20 minutes for just one coffee to come to the table!! My brother's coffee came first,Iwas quite surprised to see that mine hadn't come at the same time as my brother's,I asked if my coffee was coming out,she said it was on it's way, I thought I would only have to wait one more minute... Well a good 10 minutes had passed after my brother had received his coffee and my coffee still hadn't come, so I had enough by this stage,so I went to the counter to see what was going on, only to find the two young ladies (staff members)having a good old chat amongst themselves, I proceeded to ask is my coffee coming?? They were both very defensive and rude and said yes my coffee was coming it's just that they had been so busy!! Well I can tell you this happened on the 1st of August 2024, it certainly was not busy in fact I would say ,it was very quiet and I don't see how that it's acceptable for when a table of two, orders two coffees and you have to wait at least 20 minutes for one coffee to come and then another 13 to 15 minutes for another coffee to come out!! I would hate to see what the service is like in summer!!!! Anyway we finished our coffee I didn't want to order lunch after that awful experience, We ended up driving down to Aireys inlet lighthouse tea rooms where we only waited 5 minutes for a cup of tea and a coffee and the staff were very friendly and with a pleasant attitude, Lunch was fantastic and came out in a timely fashion,I certainly won't be going to poppies again..... Poppies was great 10 years ago, they have definitely let the nursery go, there's a lot less plants and the shelted outdoor area needs some pruning done of the dead foliage... ie....removing of dead fern fronds ect.. Very disappointing!! If you want good service and yummy food I highly recommend the Aireys inlet lighthouse tea rooms!! They do fabulous scones as well as gourmet toasties, the outdoor sitting area is lovely and you can go for a lovely walk after your coffee and scones to the lighthouse and the...

Staff are super friendly and very welcoming whether thereās a large group of us, or Iāve got the little one or a furry doggie friend. I adore the outside seating space, but thereās plenty of spaces undercover indoors too. The food is superb and although the menu is smaller, it doesnāt make it easier with what to choose from it! Iām a sucker for avo on toast with crispy bacon and on the occasional healthier day their granola with fresh fruit is delicious. Oh and Iām reluctant to share as they sell out quick, but they sell the best honey joys Iāve...
Read morePoppies Anglesea is a fantastic family-run café and nursery on the Great Ocean Road that I thoroughly enjoyed visiting. The place is incredibly welcoming and has a real community vibe. They care about their food and offer lots of options, including gluten-free and vegan dishes, which was great to see. The atmosphere was relaxed, and it felt like everyone, including visitors, was part of a big family. It's more than just a café; it's a place that really values its customers and provides a memorable experience. Whether you're passing through or local, I highly recommend...
