probably the most disappointing and overpriced food i’ve had in perth 🥴 . the iced matcha-strawberry was awful; it wasn’t sweetened at all, the strawberry tasted and felt like it was scooped straight out of a home brand jam jar, and it tasted weirdly fishy 🐠(which generally means that the matcha is either poor quality or is poorly prepared). the reuben sandwich was a rip-off!!!! $28 for a dry sandwich that BARELY had any of the promised fillings (hardly had any cheese, sauerkraut, or dressing), and so you’re left with toasted bread and a hefty slab of brisket which - don’t get me wrong - was good but NEEDED to be paired with sufficient wet ingredients. and the “””crisps””” that they serve on the side? cold and hard shoestring fries 😭😭 next: they didn’t give us any cutlery or napkins… also the interior is so small and awkward and the outside seating is situated in a miserable corner of the carpark that doesn’t get any sunlight and is next to a garbage chute. the ONLY okay thing about this place was the einspanner coffee. but even then, the “cream” was so thin that it didn’t make a difference to the taste of the black coffee. damn. $42 for two coffees and a...
Read moreVisited on a busy Saturday morning. My friend and I stood at the entrance for about 15 minutes wondering if we should leave a name for a table. No one approached us the whole time and we weren’t sure if it’s okay to just stand and block the traffic (noting that’s where the cutlery station was too). When I finally approached a waitress to ask if there was a table for three, she replied with a surprisingly rude and sassy tone of “first come, first serve”.
It wasn’t just us. Later, a customer at the table next to us asked the same waitress about the drink we ordered (the cloud spanner coffee), and the waitress replied bluntly “I don’t know” without offering any help. The customer then turned to us instead to ask about the drink and also commented on the waitress’s attitude.
The food and drinks were okay, but the service (especially from that particular waitress) was...
Read moreSmall cafe with a very interesting menu! We ordered their new seasonal menu which was the truffle Udon, beef bone marrow and salmon tataki. The Udon was cooked well but a bit underseasoned, the roast pork in it was a nice touch. The toast bread for the beef bone marrow was very delicious. The salmon tataki was quite delicious and it came with a rice croquette that was delicious together. For drinks we had the einspanner, cloud coffee spanner and cloud matcha spanner (black sesame cream). The black sesame cream was a nice touch but the portion size for the drinks are quite small for the price you're paying. Pricing overall is quite expensive, drink portions are small but food portions decent size. Parking can be very difficult in this area when busy and the cafe can get quite busy. Hard to seat a large group but perfect for...
