Sede Cafe in Ararat is an absolute gem! From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed by the warm and inviting atmosphere. The interior is stylish yet comfortable, with a relaxed vibe that makes it perfect for anything from a quick coffee catch-up to a quiet solo moment.
The coffee here is top-notch—smooth, rich, and expertly made. You can tell they care about quality and consistency. I ordered a flat white and it was honestly one of the best I’ve had in the area. They use great beans and know exactly how to bring out the flavor.
Their food is just as impressive. I had a sandwich , and it was fresh, well-presented, and full of flavor. Everything on the menu looked tempting, so I’ll definitely be coming back to try more.
The staff at Sede Cafe are friendly, attentive, and always up for a chat. You can really feel the community spirit here—they know their regulars and make everyone feel like a local.

Read moreHad a bite to eat here in the way home. Nice place. Plenty of people here. Must be a local favourite. We had the brekky burger and scrambled eggs on toast with mushrooms, pork sausage, and hollandaise. I had a latte. My travel partner had the brekky burger and said it was nice. My breakfast was ok. The scrambled eggs needed seasoning but were cooked pretty well. Just a bit overdone. Sausage was very big and nice. Hash brown was bought in, so in all honesty, it was average. I prefer handmade. It is easy to do and can be a great point of difference. Mushrooms cooked good. Again, a touch more seasoning. Hollandaise, too thick and no sharpness. It should be a sauce consistently with some bite. Latte was good but too hot. I know people like their coffees super hot but it's the wrong was to serve a latte. I might have to ask for a not too hot coffee from now on. Over all a good experience. Remember, I...
Read moreGood coffee. Average service. No table service which is fine but there is no indication of this on the tables outside and even though we had staff walk past us and catch our eye- They don't offer any information and ignore your looks.
Had scrambled eggs which were fine, and the BLAT which was below average for a $20+ sandwich. The bacon was very undercooked, the cheese was that plastic consistency that doesn't melt right and big chunks of unseasoned mushy tomato. I didn't ask for a replacement or my money back, just tried to point it out to the owner at the end of the meal and he arrogantly informed me that they had NEVER had a complaint on the sandwich before- the implication being that I was wrong.
No bother to me, it's not my business. But there's that age old expression, "the customer is always right." Now that's not to be taken so literally, but he could have handled it with more...
