Had a birthday lunch here yesterday with our family. My partner & I both ordered a $14 seniors lunch. I had the chicken snitzel, chips & salad. Very disappointing as the snitzel tasted and looked like a glued piece of chicken. Others in our party ordered the dearer snitzels $26 and they were real chicken snitzels. I understand that seniors meals are cheaper and smaller but the QUALITY of the meats should never be compromised. My partner ordered the Bangers & mash and the sausages were thin & tough more like a hard choritzo, not the fat pork sausages normally served with bangers & mash. We took 2 sausages home for our dogs! 3 of us ladies went up to order cappuccinos and green tea to go with desserts for our group. We were told the cappuccino machine in the restaurant was broken. It is simple and cheap to make a dressing, and is best to put it at the side. Dessert was sticky date pudding. The plain cake was dry, minus any hint of dates. A little topping was added, not sure what type, not date. Not a date pudding! It came with lovely ice cream and horrid, fake, frosty, dispenser type cream rubbish that tasted like soap. I suspect the cake had been frozen and microwaved. The hotel will miss the lucrative seniors market if they don't serve nicer food. This lovely hotel should be packed!
