Absolutely lived up to expectations and worth the 1h drive (for the second time - we tried on ANZAC day), my mum came here with my aunty on a day trip out, and she's been trying to get the rest of the family to come here for weeks. Honestly, this place did not disappoint - we ordered the grass fed porterhouse with pepper sauce and although the medium rare was more on the well done side, we acknowledge it's a hard one to get right. For the fish and chips, the batter was well seasoned, not drenched in oil like other places, and it was complemented with a beautiful tartare. Not eggy and well pickled. The sticky date pudding and creme brulee - wow. Coffee was one of the best strong lattes I have had to date - lasting aromatic taste - and did not leave a sour aftertaste on the pallette. Would come again!

Great value for money and nice atmosphere. The decor on the walls shows historic pictures of Bacchus marsh which match the historic look of the building itself. The meals are reasonably priced and a large serve for the price. They serve grass fed beef with chips and salad for only $28 which is a bargain! Staff are friendly but sometimes not that attentive and you might need to reach out to get there attention to order, but overall a great place for a decent meal. They also have senior specials which are generous sized portions and very affordable pricing.

Were planning on going to Lazy Moe's until wife said let's go here . I wsnt that keen and was looking forward to the Lazy Moe's Lamb Shanks and mashed potatoes. Can imagine my disappointment when I looked at the menu as there wasn't a lot of dishes to choose from. Started with the bacon and cheese bread which came out 5 minutes after we ordered . Generous pieces of bacon and cheese grilled - seemed simple but it was delicious. I went for the Porterhouse steak ,chips and scallopini sauce I swapped for the mushroom My wife opted for the Chicken Scallopini. Our son had the Lemon chicken and his partner had the Lasagne. Could imagine my surprise when I meals came out 15 mins later Mine was probably the best I've eaten and I've had a few steak meals in my life Cooked exactly how I like it , chips were perfecto as far as a chips go. Not to soft but not to crunchy , perfectly seasoned or possibly the oil it was cooked in Even the salad was nice ( I don't normally eat salad ) the honey mustard sauce was delicious. Everyone else were singing praises about their meals Would highly recommend Back to Bacchus , great food ,excellent service and price was very reasonable considering the great...

Came here for the first time with a large group (20+ people). Really nice atmosphere, cosy and light space. Entrees of garlic bread good, nachos really good and both generous servings. Although the restaurant was full, all of the meals ordered came out very quickly and all within a short time of each other. Everyone seemed to be eating their mains at the same time, which was great and a testament to the efficiency of the kitchen staff. I had the chicken Kiev and it was outstanding. Really well cooked, the chicken was moist and a large fillet with lots of oozing garlic butter. Meals are a generous serving without being too much, so that you don't feel that you are being wasteful if you can't finish. I would definitely return here to try one of the other dishes and maybe fit in one of the delicious looking desserts, which are all $8. Except a LARGE serving of ice cream with hot fudge sauce for the kids...

We've been coming here for 5 years and whilst we love the food, the service can at times, be very poor. The waitresses need training on how to properly attend to customers. After they show you to your table, they walk off instead of immediately asking you if you'd like a drink. A standard in customer service. Sometimes you sit there for 10-15 minutes before they come back, by then you're desperate for a drink!

One of the waitresses Lucy is excellent, but the others should look to her for guidance and professionalism. The guy Daniel surely must recognise us after 5 years but always asks us what name we've booked under as if we are new patrons. It's not hard to remember frequent customers names surely? He also tends to be miserable most of the time as if he'd rather be anywhere else.

The food is great, cheap with generous servings. Just don't go there expecting timely or...
