I approached the counter to order and 2 crew members were arguing about bagging up an order. There were swear words used to describe each other. The male server slowly walked over to me and I greeted him. He accurately took my order and the female told him to hand us our drinks. My son and I gathered our drinks and I asked the female who was bagging the order for plates and cutlery, then we sit down with my husband. I barely hear her call my order "boneless meal and regular chips", she has placed it on the counter and walked away. Once I looked at the order, I had to ask again for plates and cutlery. She came back with 5 plates and 20 forks, "this is all we have, sorry" she said.
I should mention while we were waiting for our food, a third server (drive-thru) was trying to find a parked car to hand out food. There were also 3 males (customers???) hanging around both female servers seemed to be friendly with the males. One of the males must have asked if the one on front counter could take a break. Her response was something to the effect of 'if my manager got out of the office and started to work, maybe I could'. The boys joked about going back there to sort it out and one of them proved he knew the code to the staff door because it has changed from when he worked there briefly. He was also the one that was vaping inside the restaurant.
As we were finishing our meal, the male customers left and then the female who had been bagging up the orders went into the public disabled toilet. Approximately 1 minute later the drive-thru server joined the other one in the disabled toilet. They both walked out of the toilet together, the one bagging orders was on her phone and the other noticed a customer at the front counter and went straight to serving him. Neither washed their hands.
The male who had taken my order, during our dining, cleaned all the outside tables and chairs, swept the floor in both the dining room & behind the counter. We never saw...

We all know that KFC franchises can be quite different to each other. I would never tell anyone to go to KFC in Browns Plaines because the food there is disgusting and thats because the children running the place couldnt organise a root in a knock shop. They have no understanding of cookery or food technology. The best KFC I've tasted in recent years came from a small store inside a service station truck stop at Chinchilla. Dalby KFC has good food also. I live a stones throw from Logan Central KFC but I will drive all the way over to Springwood store to get takeaway for my own family. Marsden store is usually filthy so I won't buy anything from there either. Years ago I worked security for Chubb Mobile and the Sunnybank KFC store was a customer of mine. I've been inside the store after hours many times to reset the allarm and check for intruders. I would not send my worst enemy to eat there. That place is so filthy, In the long run I refused to enter the premises on the grounds that the kitchen and back of house area was a safety hazard. The floor was covered in grease and stunk to high heaven of rancid fat. I was forced to throw a bag of salt on the floor on my last visit just to avoid breaking my neck in a fall.
Ballina KFC was clean, tidy and the food was excellent. The staff were well presented, well spoken and well trained. A very good store overall.
I still reckon KFC overall should be avoided for health reasons. But who on earth can abstain from consuming that delicious chicken? Mind you KFC is not nearly as good now as it...
Read moreI recently took a trip from Bungawalbin down to lovely Ballina. I was going to stop at the Hungary Jacks, but then I remembered it was Hungary Jacks, so I stopped myself. Upon seeing the glorious gracious head of the Colonel sat upon a beautifully designed bucket inscribed with the words “Kentucky Fried Chicken”. Upon parking my 2023 Range Rover Sport in the appallingly badly kept Ballina Fair Carpark, I entered the doors of this Red and White Haven.
Let me tell you I was pleasantly surprised, amazed even. Stepping in I was grasped by the 16 Degrees Celsius set Air-conditioning beautifully circulated around the Restaurant to distribute the smell of the beautifully fried Colonel’s Kentucky Chicken.
I was greeted by a Staff Member a KFC Bucket hat to which I remember because they showed great hospitality and I admire their determination to accessorise their uniform to make it more casual and fun for their every day customers.
Upon waiting a short time for my food, I was hand back the most delicious looking Chicken I’ve ever seen in my 65.6 years of living. My chicken was Fried to perfection, and was indeed “Finger Lickin’ Good” (pun intended 🤣😂🤭🫣). The Chicken wasn’t too Greasy, or too dry, just right. The chips were next level and seasoned amazingly.
I left this Restaurant with a smile on my face and entered my 2023 Range Rover Sport in style with my belly full.
5/5, would...
