My husband took me out for a belated birthday lunch. I ordered pulled beef nachos with added avocado. My husband had corn and zucchini fritters and a chocolate milkshake. My husbands fritters were tiny! He mentioned it immediately, they looked very small with a very small salad next to it , and literally gone in a few mouthfuls. Not value for $23 at all. Very poor volume!! My nachos literally would have had 2 teaspoons of beef for the whole large plate, and only on the top layer, so once underneath it was just dry nacho chips. We were shocked and annoyed at this poor serve of food. I could eat the top layer and then ran out of toppings. At $24.40 it was a pathetic attempt at nachos. As this was my birthday lunch it really made me upset to have to pay for such small volumes of food. Never coming back to this...
Read moreThe Coffee Club in Ballina Fair is a great place to enjoy a coffee in Ballina. We often head over after finishing a gym session at AnyTime Fitness across the carpark for a nice low fat coffee (Well, the wife indulges in raisin toast but I digress).
The service is fast and the cups, plates, cutlery and tables are all clean. The staff are friendly and the air-conditioning works (big importance when you're in Ballina in the height of summer).
The skim-latte's I've had have been nicely done, with no burnt coffee taste and the wife loves her hot chocolates as well.
Staff are very friendly and willing to help, even with a child hanging off you demanding a biccie! We keep coming back, and so will you if you...
Read moreLovely down to earth friendly staff. What you would expect from a suburban mall franchise. The decor is comfortable, coffee passable and predictable decent menu. Over the years The Coffee Club’s cakes have become cheaper like frozen supermarket ones. My Hummingbird cake today was ungenerous in size, texture and flavour. The thick sugar icing didn’t make up for its lack of quality. The Coffee Club prices are high for the quality but they dont have much local competition. If you have a chance choose one of the similarly priced but far superior independently owned cafes like The Belle General. For lunch or dinner Che Bon is Ballina’s best dining experience. 5 stars for staff and decor. 2 for...
