I shall start off with what my group thought about the food. The Campagnola is a signature dish from the Cecchi’s Italian Restuarant. I tried it and it had perfect, fluffy crisp bread as well as melted mozzarella cheese, confit garlic, rosemary potato and spicy pancetta. Unfortunately the toppings fall of easily and is hard for elderly to eat. Still delicious though 8/10. Now for the Boscaiola. Their is pork sausage, Swordbelt mushrooms, provolone and basil oil. The mushrooms added a nice texture the pizza. Another thing I noticed is that there was a lot more cheese then sauce. One more thing I noticed for both pizzas is you can taste the wood fired dough and the base is very thin. 8/10. The garlic bread was very soft and it had strong garlic and butter and some sort of green spread that I couldn’t recognise. 7.5/10. The house baked bread was very fresh and crisp like it just came out of the ocean 8/10. Now for the Coconut Panna Cotta. It has macerated persimmon and croccantino. The Panna Cotta was well presented and it was slightly sweet and did like to jiggle, jiggle, it folds and (wiggled). 10/10. Now for the the Handmade Pappardelle. It has Tradition Slow Cooked Lamb Ragù. It was a small portion unfortunately, especially considering it’s price. It tastes very nice and very fancy, to say the least with the lamb being well cooked as well a nice sauce to par with the meat and pasta. 7/10. Now for the Squid Ink Fettucine. It had Seafood Marinara, Chilli, Garlic, Cherry Tomato. It was a small portion, once again for its price and it was well cooked. The sea food was high quality with al dente pasta and just a touch of spice. 8/10. Now for the drinks. We’ll start off with the Pina Colada. It has a nice presentation with whipped cream on the top to make it much more appealing. The taste. The coconut had a nice taste with the rum and it is well blended so you would not got any chunks of spare ingredients. 9/10. Now for the Lemon Lime Bitter. It had a strong sour, bitter flavour that many would like. 7/10. The service was good as they would give us water when they need and they understand people’s family needs. The location and atmosphere is good but I recommend going early or else it will...
Read moreReally great night. The food was mostly great. Started off with the heirloom tomatoes which were definitely the best if the night, that cheese that came with them was INSANE, paired with the deep fried pizza dough oof. So good. We also had the triple fried chips which were lame, triple fried should be crispy AS but they weren't crisp at all, but that's our fault for getting Chios at an Italian restaurant. We also got the octopus, nit sure how we felt about it... texture was good, flavour maybe not so much?? But no far not bad at all, have just had better elsewhere.
The pizza bases were beeeaaaautiful. Thin! and the crust was so chewy and good. The flsviur on those were good can't rmemeber which we got but the one with the potstonwas good, very fennel flavored I think? Either way was good. Then had the seafood one with nduja on it I think, also was really good.
We also had the pasta with the ragu and that was also exactly what you'd want a ragu pasta to be.
The wine list was pretty lame, not many options by the glass, and none that I would have wanted so went eith the Pet nat cause it's a bit lighter and normally just easy to drink. It was good one of the better pet Nats I've had, but looking at the other wines by the glass the ones I've had before aren't great wines. (Personal choice) didn't even look at the ones by the bottle so can't comment on that.
Venue is really quaint and vibey, we went when it was quiet so it was good but can imagine it gets a bit noisy when full.
Staff were really kind and smiles and hapoy and cool, definitely liked the service.
Not that the venue can help it, but the parking situation is a bit botched, just be careful when driving out the back it's got these massive holes in rhe centre of it? It also STINKS out there 🤢 so hold your nose as you walk to and from your car.
Overall good rating but little things I'd change...
Read moreWednesday 14th September 2022 What a disappointing experience. A party of 7, all women. Our booking was from 5.30pm until 7.30pm. At 6.10pm, 40 minutes into our allotted 2 hours, I had to go and find someone to take our food orders. The food arrived promptly, at least. When being seated, we checked that split billing would be accepted, and were assured that it would be. At 7.20pm the pleasant waitress informed us that we would have to leave shortly. At 7.30pm, on the dot, an extremely rude young man came to our table, slammed the bill down, and told us that we had left things so late, and because he was so busy, that we would not now be able to split the bill, and rudely told us that we had been informed of this earlier. We hadn't. We attempted to let him know this, but were shouted down and he abruptly walked away. I spoke to the waitress and checked that we would be allowed to split the bill equally and she was again pleasant and helpful as we all paid. As we were leaving, the incredibly rude and obnoxious and apparenlty very "busy" young waiter was standing by. I pointed out to him that he was rude, upon which he yelled back at me in a most intimidating manner (I'm almost 60, female, and at least 30cm shorter than he), that we were the ones who were rude, and once again, he stormed off! Badly done, Cecchi's. Very badly done. Whatever happened to...
