With COVID, Australians are getting creative with the notion of 'getting away'. We found ourselves driving from Exeter, our farm stay accommodation for the weekend, to Berrima, following the notoriety of Josh's Cafe, as highly recommended by our farm stay host. The crowded cafe is characterful, with clusters of customers in their snug corners, devouring exotically flavoured grilled octopus, citrus garlic prawns and their extended repertoire of desserts. I admire and applaud the super prompt delivery of dishes, and the friendliness and efficiency of their staff. They really do make patrons feel very at ease and unintruded. Thank you. Back to saying the citrus garlic prawns, where they source them is worth a thumbs up. Not to say our main courses are also delicious. Make reservations otherwise you will be...

I have no idea how this place gets the reviews it does We were a group of 13 for lunch and we were all disappointed at the sub standard food. The lack of presentation and finesse would suggest a tired kitchen. The prices are up there but alas the food is not I am not sure if they are a cafe pretending to be a restaurant (If so the chef needs to take a long hard look at himself)or a cafe trying to be way more than they are able to deliver. Not one person on our table had anything good to say about the food. Over priced and under delivered is the nicest thing I can say about this place. Oh could you also tell the waiter who thought it was cool to swing of the beam in the restaurant in front of our table that he resembled a monkey rather than a front of house...

One of the best and most friendly restaurants you could visit on the Southern Highlands. It was a *locals" night (Thursday) with their friends, we were mere travellers and welcomed by staff as though we were friends also. Head of house, waiting staff and open kitchen treated us like we were regulars. Food Blue swimmer crab cakes shared, with a mayo and chilli dressing with greens, tangy and tasty. Mains My wife had slow cooked shredded Bungandore lamb with Greek cheese infused bechamel sauce, wow. I had veal with lemon infused mustard sauce, at least 7 or 8 layers of finely cut and grilled veal, a big meal, tender and tasty. Good wine selection, nothing overpriced. Food, service, staff, great. Would we come back...

What a great little find! The cafe and shop were super cute and the courtyard out the back was dog friendly. It doesn’t look like much from the front but inside is a little wonderland. Plenty of dietary friendly options and a wide selection of drinks available too. My partner enjoyed the coffee and Dahl, my friend had scones and coffee and I had n orange hot chocolate and a vegan, gf, nut free jam drop biscuit. We also bought a gift for a friend before leaving. The staff were friendly and helpful and the only drawback was that it felt a little cramped in spots because they were so busy. Would definitely recommend stopping in for a browse of the shop or for a visit to the cafe itself.

booked a table for 1.30pm three adults and baby. with the kitchen closing at 2pm the staff were friendly and accommodating, exception mains with chicken curry, confit duck leg and the Turkish Spiced lamb mince. Finishing our mains at 2.30 they offered and allowed us desert and accommodated our table until we finished. Superb deserts with the chocolate fondant, apple tarte tatin and the pear and rhubarb crumble all served with ice cream. Exception service and decadent food. Great job guys
