We recently had our wedding catered by Will and the team at Ateş. We’d dined at the restaurant previously, and always said having them cater our wedding would be an absolute dream scenario. Food was a really important aspect of the day for both of us, and we wanted our guests to enjoy a simply excellent meal, while still feeling like they had been invited over to our place for a family gathering. Happy bellies = good vibes in our book, and that was a non-negotiable for our wedding.
We contacted Ateş, and to our absolute delight they were more than willing to work with us and provide catering for our wedding. From then on, the entire process was nothing but lovely. They were always responsive, enthusiastic and happy to accommodate our questions and requests. We were so impressed by their hospitality, and felt so excited by the sharing menu we created together. The flexibility to tailor our own package was incredible. We ended up with several canapes, two starters, several sides, a main protein and some desserts. We ordered our alcoholic drinks through Ateş as well. We were a bit lost as to where to start with drinks, and so they provided suggestions and guided us on quantities, which made the process infinitely easier and stress-free.
On the day, they were incredibly professional and efficient. The food was amazing, and was everything (and more) than we could have imagined. However, what really struck us was the service. Everyone on the team was lovely. Our venue manager at Waldara Farm was beyond impressed by their professionalism. All the staff seemed to really enjoy what they were doing, and genuinely be having fun doing so. Many of our guests commented on what a lovely presence the staff were, how they interacted with the kids and seamlessly accommodated everyone. Our guests were raving about the food for days after the wedding. We couldn’t have had a better experience, and are so grateful to Will and the entire Ateş team for making such a positive impact on our wedding day!

Read moreMy first review is below. I recently went back as their degustation menu has changed. Second review. Started well, was called a day prior to my booking with them apologizing that the menu change would be a day later as they had had delivery issues. No biggy. They were able to shoot me in on the following evening. Service is fabulous, very knowledgeable, just the right amount of attention, very curtious. Great. Drinks are mixed well. The food again Devine. Every dish was sublime. We'd initially opted for John dory instead of the pork as we had the pork last time, (at that time it was our least favourite). But asked for a serve of the pork just to try it so that I could compare. So glad we did. Simply amazing. I have eaten at many restaurants all around the world. I have my favorites. This place is now one of them. Keep up the great work. First review. A completely unexpected delight. Currently only serving a degustation menu Ates is a diamond amongst the coal. Fabulous food, great service. Staff are knowledgeable about both the food and wines. The food is a very modern twist on its Turkish heritage. To the point that one could be forgiven thinking it heralds from anything but Turkish roots. No matter, the food is beautifully presented and tastes as good as it looks. Everything is well seasoned, tasty tasty tasty. Highly recommended. The drinks are well mixed, at least what we tried. Do try the scallops. They are an additional charge but well worth it. Every single dish was tasty. If I had to find fault with something it could only be the pork neck we had. Perhaps resting a little longer would have helped the pork be a little more tender....
Read moreDisgusting experience, we had a booking for 8pm, we where late and called to let them know that we would be late, the person on the phone said it was ok and what time will you arrive, we said before 8:30pm the person on the phone said ok see you then. When we arrived just before 8:30pm we were greeted with no warmth and asked to follow “me” (A guy with a nose ring) we were seat half a meter from another couple when there were many tables for two available with a bit more privacy. We were then asked still or sparkling water we asked for still where the waiter returned with the water he proceeded to tell us because you are half an hour late for your booking the kitchen is closed so you won’t be able to have this or that…and walked away we looked at each other and said let’s leave! My husband went to tell the waiter we are leaving he started by saying you could have told me on the phone that the kitchen would be closed the response he received was well you call 7 minutes after your booking time and said you would be here before 8:30pm…my husband responded it feels like your my teacher talking to me no a restauranteur! The waiter continued with a rude tone…with that my husband simply said we are leaving and we left. The food could be good but we will never know due the rude arrogance of the person who answered the. phone and seated...
