Stopped in for a bite during a day trip around the Northern NSW coast. Fuel Bakehouse looked like the real deal and seemed to have a good range of pies and pastries and wraps and even a few different meat pie flavours. I went for the Curried vegetable Pie being a vego. Unfortunately it was disgusting . It was nice and hot but I should have been alarmed when I noticed the aluminium tray the pie was sitting in. This had wonderfully made the base undercooked and the base very soggy. Okay, we can forgive these things but....the filling was undercooked flour, almost flavourless and certainly no curry flavour. OMG it was bad. Hopefully the other pies are great and this was a one off. And the review is one time only and for one product. Staff were friendly and pleasant.

I stumbled upon this delightful cafe while roaming around the main Cabarita strip.I was greeted by a friendly staff. Their homemade pies looked amazing and was drawn towards the chorizo slow cook beef pie. The verdict, a little runny though the combination of the chorizo and beef was mouthwatering and the pastry complimented the experience. To wash this thoroughly enjoyable meal I tried their sticky chai infused with soy milk. The chai had a strong hint of licorice though very soothing. The bakehouse had a wide assortment of baguettes and sandwiches. So if your heading down towards the Tweed Valley region for a swim or a leisurely drive I highly recommend dropping into Fuel bakehouse for lunch.

MY FAV CAFE!! everything here is so gooddddddd. I especially love the chocolate caramel slice (it is my secret vice) so rich and delicious and so sweet perfect for brunch or something yummyyyyy. I love the iced chai’s and idea mochas. Good quality coffee beans and food. They have yummy pies, cakes and donuts. It is in a great location with super nice seating areas, a great view and friendly staff. I highly recommend you should go there, they are not pricey and what not to mention have a super nice ice teas that are so nice on a hot day.

Friendly staff, but absolutely impossible to get an extra hot drink from here. I've tried four times now. On the second time I expressly repeated "please, extra hot". On the third time I ordered a matcha latte - luke warm at best, and so I did ask if it could be reheated. Still just barely hot (and so sweet!), so decided to toss it. Tried just now to get an extra hot coffee - but again, probably not even as hot as a regular coffee. Decided to swallow my embarrassment and just ask if I could get a small cappuccino as a replacement to the extra hot medium soy cappuccino initially ordered. Was given a warm cow's milk latte šŸ¤¢šŸ¤¢šŸ˜‚ - I hate dairy milk šŸ˜‚. Again, friendly service but definitely won't be back as the drinks are just not to my taste/what you order. If they aren't willing to make hot coffees, better...

May 2025 I just wanted a meat pie but this bakery is a yuppy bakery. So I got a pulled beef pie which must have been overcooked because the meat had turned into mush. Because I was hungry I scooped the meat out and ate the pastry... it was like scooping out slime. No idea if this is how this pie was meant to be but I'd be shocked if it was. I'm thinking they've overcooked them but decided to sell anyway because there is no seating specifically for the bakery to stay there so most people would take away. I actually sat outside to eat and should have taken it back inside for a refund but I was with a friend and didn't want to be a whinger. Yuck yuck yuck. Didn't take a pic for same reason as...
