Came here about 5 yrs ago several times when camping here. We eat Thai food regularly on the Gold Coast so we have a pretty good idea of what the service/food should be like. Service here was quick but attitude of those in kitchen was terrible. My wife asked if the pad prik khing could be changed to beef (which we have all the time in other Thai places) the cooks replay to the young man who was the waiter was just a flat out no. The portion of this dish was tiny for the price. I ordered the chicken pad see ewe with medium spice. It came out with the spice on the side and I asked the waiter if it could have the spice mixed in as that’s what I ordered. It came back with no spice mixed in or on the side so I had to ask for the spice on the side and mix in myself. We decided just to get going after finishing our dishes. I got to the counter and the lady who sounded like one of the owners said “you pay by card?” No “how was your meal” or “thanks for coming.” Then she charged extra for using credit card and there was no sign anywhere on the counter, eftpos machine, or menu saying they’d charge more if you used credit card. When I queried her she she dug out a sign hidden saying they charge more for cards. I don’t give many reviews under 5 stars but I chose a two here instead of a one purely because the young waiters were very friendly and helpful. Everything was well below average. Really disappointed maybe they just don’t enjoy why...
Read moreSome times a holiday destination has food providers that get by on quantity not quality. The fact that you don’t have much choice, means you just accept it’s not great but at least everyone is fed.
This is not one of those.
A small dine-in venue, with diverse and impressive menu options, the atmosphere was comfortable and attractive. But it’s their food that stands out. Honest, clean and authentic favours with quality curry pastes and fresh, well-balanced ingredients. Are the carrots crinkle-cut? Yes. But are they and the other veggies cooked just right and in good proportions? Also, yes. We adored the lovely, slightly tangy Massaman with fall-apart beef and the slightly sweet and perfectly-spiced yellow curry. The pad see yew was suitably delicious, and the Thai beef salad had all the right balances of flavour without the head-kicking heat of the original.
The menu offers a wide variety that we look forward to trying based on our one visit, and all those dining-in were obviously delighted with their choices. Reward the staff’s clear enthusiasm and talent with at least one visit. Reward yourself...
Read moreOverall a good experience. Takeaway was quick and well packaged for no spills. Great range of options, lots of great vegies in each dish. The Crying Tiger was amazing, so tender and tasty, same with the Chicken Satay. A few issues with our order: we ordered Goong Choo Chee but got Seafood Choo Chee which was a problem because one dinner does not eat mussels, the roti were undercooked and a bit pasty as a result, and in the Pad Phed Ped Yang the duck was chewy, the dish was overly salty and the one lychee and 2 pieces of pineapple couldn't balance it. Would help if the menu made it clear that this is not a coconut cream based red curry too. Would definitely go back here though,...
