Central Hotel Bowen — Restaurant in Bowen

I have just moved to Bowen and I must say the service offered at this joint was disappointing. I had gone in to order a creamy garlic meal as takeaway, the dish is was very yummy but the meal as expected was creamy and not “eatable” without a utensil. I asked for cutlery or some form of plastic spoon, but the employee (which I choose not to describe) told me with an immediate shrug that they didn’t even have any without attempting to be of help despite knowing how watery my meal would be. My curiosity is, how can a restaurant that cooks all types of meals not offer some form of cutlery for customers who choose to get takeaway, heck the local iga down the road offers cutlery’s too. My family and I are on holiday from Charters Towers and highly regret choosing u guys over simple fish and chips.The customer service was very disappointing, the food was appalling, and waited over an hour and my sister food came out cold then continued waiting for another 30 minutes. finally my sister got given to her food and it was that oily you could deep fry crumbed steak with it, plates and cups all over the place and I highly understand that they were short staffed but I work at a pub myself and you just have to prioritise....

We dined on Sunday evening 22nd. Pub was clean and tidy and reasonably busy. Food was perfect, but our waitress needs a special mention. I couldn't quite read her name tag as it was smudged, but it definitely started with an M. I watched this young lady work the till, the bar and the floor.
