Tucked away in a quiet residential area, this café feels like a little sanctuary where you can slow down and unwind. The outdoor seating is surrounded by trees, creating a leafy, calming atmosphere that makes your coffee break feel more like a retreat than just a quick stop. It’s the kind of space where you can sit back, breathe in the fresh air, and really enjoy the moment.
The coffee is excellent – smooth, rich, and clearly made with attention to detail. To go with it, I had the avocado-topped toast, and it was outstanding: fresh, generous, and beautifully presented, the perfect match for a good brew.
What makes this spot special is the balance between quality and setting. You get café-standard food and drinks, but in an environment that feels worlds away from the busier parts of town. It’s popular with locals, and you can see why – the vibe is relaxed, the service is friendly, and it’s just the right place to enjoy a slow morning or a casual afternoon catch-up.
If you’re after a café that combines great food and coffee with a nature-filled, laid-back atmosphere, this is one you’ll...
Read moreWe really love Abode Cafe it has become our “go to” breakfast/brunch place, it’s always full of people, the atmosphere is friendly, the staff are lovely and the coffee is fantastic. The food is nicely presented and there are good vegetarian options along with all the old favourites. The freshly baked breads and pastries together with homemade jams, relishes and pickles add that special touch. We are slowly eating our way through the menu, slowly because everything we have tried so far is so good that we have ordered some things multiple times. The savoury mince is delicious, the poached eggs perfect and my current favourites, the “Dulcie” and the “Reuben” sandwiches are exceptional. Abode is a sparkling little gem of a place inside and out and if you are lucky enough to get a table outside in the sun it’s a perfect spot to enjoy a Brisbane winter...
Read moreBeautiful little cafe. Their messaging is really focussed on quality and ethical food sourcing. Yay! The staff were very friendly and accommodating. I think they are succeeding in making a very homely environment. It makes you want to go back.
They use black sheep beans which is my favourite type. They are beautiful. However, it tasted very acidic to me. I'm used to soy milk and since the milk alternative they offer is almond milk, it could have been that.
The only other thing I would say is, as a vegetarian, there wasn't that many options. I don't think that's a terrible thing. Quality over quantity. But, don't trust the list of dishes on Google maps. I assume their menu is seasonal, so it didn't match Google maps.
Finally, since it's quality it does cost more. I'd recommend it to my friends, but the food and coffee didn't appeal to my...
