Not recommended if you are a total amateur. The course has quite a few very steep slopes, water ways, ponds, bunkers, obstacles, trees and people (moving between holes). You'll look to spend about $60 for a novice game ($32 game, $20 club hire, balls), it's likely you'll lose some balls if you're not a novice / advanced and even then. The clubhouse is very nice and the staff are also very nice

Trevelling from the UK. Beautiful and well kept course close to Brisbane city. Not the most difficult but worth a trip. Helpful staff in the pro shop. Some guys got caught out on 5th/7th tee box and it is confusing as the tee boxes meant you were hitting across one another. Some of the members or locals could have been more welcoming.

Awesome 18 hole course not far from the city. Had a game of the front nine today and the course was in pristine condition for us. The huge greens were well kept and the fairways top notch. Had some fun difficult shots and an amazing environment to play in. A challenging golf course and set amongst some peaceful scenery.

A friend and I arranged a game in the interest of joining as members. 18 holes was booked with a cart and a meeting post game to discuss membership. On arrival to play on Sunday, we were met by a grumpy, extremely unfriendly man who said there are no carts and no way we were told we would get one...either walk with the course pull-carts or leave. This attitude flowed onto other players in the pro shop. So strike one. The front 9 was very nice, picturesque and well maintained. The back nine there are too many par 3's and extreme dog-legged par 4's, which let the course down, strike 2. On finishing the round we went to the bar for some lunch and a few beers, only to find they do not have a decent lunch menu like every other club, only a restaurant with prices no-one would ever pay for a relaxing lunch after a round. Strike 3. So all in all a disappointing day out and one not to be repeated. Ashgrove, do yourselves a favour - boot the rude staff member working Sunday 29th Nov and offer some decent affordable...

Ashgrove GC is carved out of a forest on the side of a hill. With 7 par threes and 2 short par fives, the course is fairly compact and less challenging than the longer courses around Brisbane. There are enough hazards and steep slopes to challenge and interest the keenest of golfers.

Walking the course will give you a great workout whilst the peaceful surroundings will make you feel you’re a world away from the hustle and bustle of the close proximity to the city.

Hole 3 and 7 were my favourite par 3’s, well thought out, challenging and beautiful. Hole 15 and 16 provide a wonderful challenge with near...

The course saw some recent storms and was clearly suffering. A few trees down, lots of leaf litter on the fairways and bunkers were washed out and very hard. Despite that, it appears the course could do with a good overhaul. Ball washers were broken, tracks were rough and the greens and fairways were below average. While I accept that we played at a bad time, they were still charging $24 to walk nine holes; we were given no warning about its poor condition nor a discount. The course has some great potential and is in a beautiful setting but I doubt I'd go back again. The bar, and the staff that worked...
