Ventured to the Blind Tiger for a late lunch on a wet and cold Sunday afternoon. On arrival we where shown to a table in a very draughty area. We asked if we could move and were promptly shown to a number of vacant tables further inside were it was warmer. Ample time was given to select a drink and order a meal. The range of meals is not extensive but there is something for everyone. Lunch arrived promptly plates felt like they had just been removed from a refrigerator this soon transferred to the luke warm food which in the beginning was tolerable but soon became cold. We considered asking for it to be reheated but my meal looked like it had been precooked before and the pork belly would have become dry . On collection of the plates we informed the staff member that the meal could have been much warmer she said she would talk to the chef. I watched the plates disappear into the kitchen the staff member did not talk to the chef. Disappointing. Its a sad outcome as the staff are quite attentive and engaging. Hope you can sort out the food issue otherwise its just...
Read moreVisited on a Monday night for a dinner out, which you'd expect to be quiet, but the restaurant was moderately trafficked which was good to see. The restaurant was also comfortable, quiet, interesting decor and generally just a nice place to be. The staff could have been a little more lively, but again, it was a Monday night so I get it. The food was great - plenty of options, good kids options which were well presented and appropriately priced (nice to see!) and a good meal overall. We tried some of the cocktails and quite enjoyed them and they were also quite well priced I thought, given what you can pay for a pint of beer at most places these days.
My only gripe is the table ordering system. Chewzie thinks it appropriate to charge a $5.95 "Processing fee" on the order? For what? Never seen this sort of bolt-on fee before & will be avoiding the table ordering next time all-together. Small bickies in the scheme of things I know, but I really object to hidden fees dumped on the order at...
Read moreThis was a great little place for our family to meet for a birthday celebration / farewell lunch. I was a bit disappointed that although we booked a table for 8, plus a high chair, our table was not ready for us and we had to search for the high chair - easily done but I didn't feel particularly welcome considering we made the effort to book. No-one came and introduced themselves, no mention was made of the birthday either. We ordered off the very efficient "group style" QR code menu, food came quickly and was delicious with the meat-lovers parmi a clear favourite. Only after we ordered off the QR code menu, did we find the lunch specials up at the bar, I feel a few of these menus could have been on our table ready for our arrival in advance. Overall a great little lunch spot with great food, but a bit more personalised service would go a long way to make the experience a little...
