Bollywood Bar - Indian Restaurant — Restaurant in Brisbane City

Definitely can confirm this is now our favourite Indian restaurant. Bollywood has amazing curries that are so flavourful we want to try them all. Bollywood has the best naan - even better than Indian Kitchen 🤫! The cheese and garlic naan is to die for. We ordered a Matar Paneer and Chicken Tikka Masala with our staple onion bhaji. So delicious. The staff are so friendly also.

I love my Indian food and I am super picky with my curries and naan. I have my two favourite Indian restaurants and they are both in the West End and South Brisbane area and never like trying out new Indian places because they can't compete. 😜 However, I reside in SE Brisbane and decided to try out Bollywood Bar due to it's great reviews, proximity and to experiment with something outside my comfort zone. Bollywood didn't disappoint and I am so glad I gave it a go. We ordered 2 curry dishes (mango chicken and paneer palak), cheese and garlic naan (which was amazing! I don’t write bad reviews but couldn’t stop writing one for this restaurant. We had the worst experience so far in this restaurant. We had ordered chicken tikka in iron which I had earlier there so I took my friends for dinner specially to have that dish. The waiter promised us to serve that however we didn’t receive it even after confirming twice. The best part is he was making silly reasons and talking behind our back which I found very disrespectful. We had ordered chopped onions and pappadums which we received when we were finishing our dinner. The curry wasn’t upto the mark as expected. We ordered water which we received when we wanted to leave and we could see the waiters were not very busy as well. We are so disappointed with this place as they didn’t even bother to apologise us for so many things that happened not just one. Even when we were at the counter for billing they still charged us the full amount while they knew they didn’t serve us anything like you do in a average restaurant as well. Extremely poor customer service.

We had called the restaurant and pre booked the table for 13 people - the staff agreed and reserved the table for us.

We ordered 6 starters, 5 curries, 2 Naans, 10 rotis, 2 salads, 10 buttermilk, 2 lemon lime bitters at 8:06pm.

Only got starters at 8:25pm. Got the 2 curries and 2 Naans at 8:37pm. We told the staff to kindly serve the food quickly because there was excessive wait time.

Received the rest of the order at 8:49 pm. Obviously the ordered food was not enough and we requested the staff to give us 2 more curries and 2 more naans. Explaining them to please accept the last order - as a humble request.

The staff would not budge and would argue with us that they have a backlog order from uber and other tables. They are literally accepting a new group of customers at 8:40pm and denying our last order on humble request.

The main reason to share this is so other customers don’t fall victim to this kind...
