VENUE We had a fab Sunday lunch at the Camp Hill Hotel on the first day of Winter 2025.
It looks like the place has been recently renovated, with a modern, airy and spacious interior, and plenty of seating spread across different parts of the venue. We chose the main dining area and sat at a high table with bar stools - super comfy and a great spot to take in the atmosphere.
The decor is stylish, with wooden furniture, patterned carpets and strong lighting, creating a relaxed, casual and laid-back environment. The vibe was warm and homely, with lots of families and groups enjoying a fun afternoon out. Despite the busy crowd, the acoustics were excellent, and we were able to chat comfortably without raising our voices.
FOOD This venue is part of the A.L.H. Group of hotels. We’ve dined at many of their pubs in and around Brisbane and other parts of Queensland, and we’ve never once been disappointed. The Camp Hill Hotel was no exception.
The food was fresh, tasty, and served in generous portions. The seniors menu offers excellent value for money - a real blessing in this era of raging hyperinflation. I had the seniors rissoles, which were delicious - chunky, meaty balls served with creamy mash, veg, and a rich, flavoursome gravy. My wife’s fish was tender and succulent, served with crisp vegetables. Our friends had the classic beef pies and loved them.
To finish, we shared two rounds of our all time favourite dessert, the sticky date pudding. It was sweet and moist and came with cream and a scoop of ice cream. The perfect end to a satisfying meal.
SERVICE The service was excellent - fast, friendly and efficient, just the way we like it. There were no delays in getting our drinks or food, and everything arrived promptly.
Staff were polite and helpful, and this is something we’ve consistently noticed at A.L.H. venues. They seem well trained and professional, and their smart black uniforms add a nice touch of polish. The whole place hums like a well oiled machine, giving patrons a smooth and hassle free dining experience.
FACILITIES The toilets were clean, well stocked, easy to find, and clearly signposted.
Parking is a breeze in the hotel’s own car park right out the front. There’s also a handy BWS liquor store adjacent to the car park, perfect for picking up a bottle or two on the way home.
SUMMARY We had a fantastic Sunday lunch at the Camp Hill Hotel, which has all the positive attributes that we’ve come to expect from A.L.H. venues: great food, good value, fast and friendly service, and a comfortable, relaxed setting. Add to that easy parking and clean amenities, and it’s a winning combination for a top-value pub meal — especially for seniors.
REWARDS If you haven’t already joined the Pub+ rewards program, it’s well worth signing up. This venue is part of the program, which lets you earn points on every food and drink order and redeem them for real dollars to use next time. It’s a big improvement to the old Monty’s program, and the app even lets you order directly...
Read morePub/Tab/Dining: We attend quite regularly & are always greeted with a lovely smile & welcoming from Yasmin, Ryan, Hayden & Casey. Came for lunch a few weeks ago with friends & family; Food was absolutely amazing for all of us, however customer service from Bronte was disappointing & disrespectful. While ordering our meals & when asked for assistance. My baby nephew made a mess at the table, my brother in law asked for a cloth to wipe up some water, Bronte made out like she had been put out & was annoyed she had to do her job. 10 minutes later she returned with a cloth, practically throwing it at my brother in law. On multiple separate occasions myself & my mother have been disrespected by this girl (Bronte). I have brought it to certain staff members attention a few times however nothing has changed. I have begun refusing service from Bronte as her attitude & customer service is uncalled for & ridiculous. Sadly due to this particular staff member I have only given a 3 star rating. 1: disrespect, uncalled for & re-occurring 2: management have not done anything to prevent this from continuing to occur, (in my opinion) as it still happens every time I get served by Bronte.
Yasmin, Ryan, Hayden & Casey deserve 5 stars for their customer...
Read moreThere needs to be more shelter outside of the place so that if you check in after the internal doors are shut you aren't caught in the absolute pouring rain like we were. The guy that checked us in is allegedly the same guy my mum had serve her a few years back, she remembered him from his very unprofessional attitude. The guy was a flog, rude, unhelpful to the point I didnt even bother with attempting to book the next few nights accommodation there. We went elsewhere & gladly gave them our money. The rooms are a decent size. Bed was comfy. The corridors to the accommodation stink of rubbish. Bathrooms weren't very clean. There were some very unruly characters staying in the hotel & drinking in the gaming room area. Tables had lots of glasses/mess left on them. The place wasn't busy. The young lady that was working with the other guy looked petrified of him. It was no surprise that a patron was having a verbal altercation with the male employee when we walked into the front bar. I'm sure he encounters that daily with how he holds his business. I'm not local to Queensland, so I've got no idea what kind of suburb it is. However after my stay here it would appear it is a bit unsavoury and I will never ever ever stay in...
