Cambridge Lane Espresso + Kitchen — Restaurant in Brisbane City

Know the area & coffee shops well & after five or six consecutive visits up to twice a week, it has to be said the service has been very disappointing along with how casual the staff are in executing their duties. Walked in & hardly any customers present yet staff are joking around in a group while we wait at counter to be served. Each & every time we have had to wait up to 15mins for coffee & can see & hear staff constantly chatting with no other orders. Finally when coffee is served, the food takes another 10mins to arrive which is something simple & only to be heated up! Also noticed after customers have left, that no table cleaning was carried out but up to four staff members had time to stand around in a huddle chit chatting. If it occurred once or twice over time it wouldn't be an issue but having dropped in every week & had the same thing occur is just not good enough. Has to be said that Shane & Reece with myself knowing the latter, were not present during these visits & when I've been there with them working, the service was up to standard. Not that it seems to matter these days, but I definitely won't be back to have the same thing...

We came here this morning and bought two large cappuccinos and a cherry danish, we arrived at about 6:05 and got our coffees within 5 minutes of ordering which we were pretty happy with. However after grabbing the coffees we asked the barista if we could get our danish from the cabinet, to which she responded it was just being heated up by someone else. We waited another 5 minutes and a chef pointed at us and asked what we were waiting on and the barista said a danish, so he went and grabbed a danish from the cabinet in front of us after realising no one had grabbed it yet and started heating it up in the microwave (which we never asked them to do). After another 5 minutes had passed we noticed no one was paying attention to the microwave and the barista was just stood there holding a cup of milk so we decided to just leave as we were going to miss the sunrise. I don't like leaving bad reviews but waiting 15+ minutes for a Danish to be heated in a microwave...

UNHYGIENIC STAFF. I went for coffee on Sunday morning here and the girl with blonde hair serving the coffee was patting a dog in the outside seating area (like really patting it, scratching it's back, scratching under it's chin etc) and then proceeded back to the counter grabbing teaspoons and coffee and smoothies and serving them to tables - NO SANITIZER, NO HAND WASHING. Absolutely disgraceful hygiene. Also we ordered two long blacks in mugs and she brought them to our table and served them over my baby in a pram. HELLO - Boiling coffee held over a baby in a pram. NOT SAFE, NOT THOUGHT OUT AND AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN. Steer clear of this place, unless you like people serving your food and coffee who've been patting dogs and not washing their hands. Makes you wonder what other staff cleanliness is like and how hygienic their overall food practices are. No thanks, as a local I will definitely be...
