Night duty as a nurse is a killer, especially on State of Origin night. BUT, I was on with my workplace bestie, so we crafted a plan to buy a pizza to re-heat at 2 in the morning, to get us through! Mmm, mmm! I could smell it in advance! Alas, our devious plan failed, and we starved. I stopped by Clayfield Dominos at 9pm to collect our pre-ordered pizza, before embarking on our 10 hour night shift. “Order for Cath” I enthusiastically blurted, but these guys just looked at me, then looked at each other and said “Pizza? What pizza”? I duly showed them my email confirmation, and they scratched their heads a bit harder, spoke some words in a language I didn’t understand, searched every random place you could hide a pre-ordered pizza, shook their heads twice more, then eventually told me what I already knew from their body language. “We’ll make that for you right now”. Apparently I just needed to wait ANOTHER 10 minutes! Umm, I can’t just rock up late for my shift mate, that’s not okay! My work ethic is clearly very different to yours! So I gave a little sigh and left empty-handed, preparing to break the news to my work bestie. I sat her down, and broke the news. Bereft, we gave each other a little hug, cried for our lost supper, and collectively starved. Then we got on with the job! Oh those poor patients who had to listen to our empty tummies, pitifully crying out for 2am for the pilgrim pepperoni pizza! Ciao Clayfield...

Went in store to place an order for delivery, gave specific delivery directions which the manager took down and arranged the time of delivery. The pizza was for a corporste event with many high valued clients attending.
Got the text to say the pizza's were ready and on they way.... they were far from on the way. At the time of the pre organized delivery the driver was no where to be seen. I called the store only to be told the order was for pick up. I spoke with the manager and reminded him of our earlier discussion and giving him specific directions in which he said he would send the driver out straight away.
Another 30 mins passed to which i had to ring the store again to confirm where the driver was, they advised me he just left. This is now over an hour after the original delivery time. The distance from the drop of point to the store is less than 8km away. The driver ended up arriving an hour and 25 minutes after the original drop off time.
No sorry from the driver, no additional extras to make up for the lateness like couple of garlic bread and 9 luke...
