Service & Ambience Besides us, there were just a handful of other diners, and it’s not hard to see why. The food was a mixed bag with inconsistent quality. Service was slow, inefficient and unfriendly and the ambience was soulless. The place is large, with timber floors and elegant chandeliers, giving it the appearance of a dance hall, which added to the feeling of emptiness. Despite the number of staff outnumbering guests, we struggled to attract the attention of a wait person to take our order. Staff seem generally unmotivated and disinterested. Eventually orders were taken, but we waited 25 minutes for the food to arrive. I noticed one staff member racing around with what was supposed to be our entrée, the veg samosas, unable to locate us, even though there were only about two or three other occupied tables. After running around like a headless chicken for a few minutes, she disappeared back into the kitchen without delivering our samosas. Eventually she came back, by which time we had already received our two main meals from other wait staff, brought out separately. So that was the order that we received the food: First one meal, then another, then the entrée, and they completely forgot about the rice. Food The tandoori chicken was a generous portion but it was dry and tasteless. The other dishes were better. The samosas were tasty, with a soft potato filling and enclosed in a crispy coating. The lamb korma was melt-in-your-mouth tender and drenched in a creamy cashew nut sauce. Would have been perfect with the rice, but that never arrived. The cheesy naan though was at least a decent accompaniment to the meat. Toilet Toilets are clearly marked and accessible directly from the restaurant although I’m assuming that they’re shared with other tenants and users of the building, because there’s also access from the corridor. They are clean and well provisioned with adequate male and female cubicles. The 1980s style hand dryer could do with an upgrade, or hand towels would be even better. Cost We paid 69 (including a fee of 1.1 pesos for using a credit card) for a beer, a serve of samosas, a serve of cheese naan and two main meals. But given the disappointing experience with the food, service and ambience, that was not good value for money . Parking There is a car park that serves the little centre where this restaurant is located although there are limited spaces and we struggled to find one. Directions to the restaurant are confusing with only a sign pointing to a back entrance which we were unable to find anyway. Eventually a passer-by alerted us to a lift inside the centre that took us to the restaurant. Summary Service was slow and inefficient and the food was a mixed bag with some dishes excelling, whilst the chicken was almost inedible. Being empty on a Saturday night is not a good sign.

Absolutely Disappointing – Never Ordering Again This was our second time ordering from Indian Brothers Restaurant, and unfortunately, it will be our last. We ordered biryani online, and to our shock, the large rice container—previously filled to the brim—arrived only half full. It honestly looked like someone had eaten from it. While we initially suspected the delivery driver, the bag was stapled shut and securely sealed, so it's clear the issue originated from the kitchen. Perhaps they ran out of rice and gambled that we wouldn’t notice. Well, we did. To make matters worse, the Doordash delivery was a nightmare. It took 2.5 hours for our food to arrive. We had given clear and specific delivery instructions, yet the food was dumped on the stairs, in the rain, without a call or message. What we found was cold, soggy, and incomplete. When we called the restaurant, the initial response was just “sorry.” To be fair, Eshita later offered to replace the meal and promised a refund as a gesture of goodwill. While we appreciate her effort, the core issue remains: the kitchen sent out half a meal, and the delivery was handled carelessly. We had just come out of hospital surgery, hoping for a comforting meal. Instead, we were met with frustration, food safety concerns, and poor service. It’s disappointing and unacceptable, especially for loyal customers. We’ll wait for the refund—but we won’t be ordering again due to food safety concern we experienced.

This Indian restaurant has only just opened in Taringa. I think this must be their first week of business. Food was very good and just what you would expect from a traditional Australian Indian restaurant. I'm more into the street food Indian restaurants these days and more so go for a dosa, chat, chole or pulao/biryani dish rather than a traditional butter chicken etc. However! They do have a few street food items on the menu such as Chole Bhature (chickpea curry with fried bread). This actually turned out really good and was my favourite dish on the night. As they have only just opened the staff were all new and learning and there was a bit of confusion, however everyone was really nice and I'll update the review in a couple months once they have had some time to adjust and I've tried some more dishes. I'd recommend giving them a go as it's great to finally have an Indian restaurant in the area. Also highly recommend giving the street food a go as you will be surprised how good it is.

After having meals from this restaurant since they took over the premises we have had somewhat pleasant experiences apart from the below.

Once a delivered order was completely incorrect it was mixed up with another persons order the manager at that time replaced it free of charge.

A couple of weeks ago we ordered a family pack and upgraded to large we had aluminium foil in our vindaloo it seemed to be a champagne bottle cork wrap and to top it off a piece of nylon string from possibly a scrubbing brush in a Nann bread…. The same day was a function with Bain Maries in use so I would not be surprised if our meal was left overs !!!!! Multiple phone calls asking for a manager over several days without a single return phone call. With persistence I finally spoke with the manager and made time to go into the store with the foreign objects. He blamed the staff for not telling him the nature of my calls ???? He refunded our money incorrectly at first short changed of original cost he also offered to replace the meal then and there to which we said we will arrange that another time. The time comes to order the replacement meal and he now will not honour that !!!!

We will never go back to this restaurant very very disappointed when we like to support our local...
