Extremely disappointed. I spent $400 on this abomination. It was specially ordered for my son's 18th birthday and was to look like a Holden VY Commodore. I sent pictures of his car and Huong told me they would make it resemble my son's car in design. Huong also told me they would put the Holden logo on it and his name on the number plate. I had to pay in advance and ordered it a week ahead giving them time to produce something of quality. I wouldn't normally spend this kind of money on a cake but it was for a special occasion and thought it would be a nice touch to my son's birthday and something he will remember forever. It will be remembered but for all the wrong reasons. Well you could imagine the reaction when we collected the cake both my husband and I were horrified however didn't realize the extent of how terrible it was until we got home. They tried to cover this disgrace up with big boxes and hurry us out of the shop. It was embarrassing to say the least and quite upsetting when we found out what we got. The reaction from our family and friends were of disgust and horror and when I explained what I ordered and amount I paid for such poor quality they all asked the business that was responsible. Not to mention the amount of toothpicks inserted throughout the cake made it a health hazard. If they were unable to create what I paid for then they should have had common decency to let me know prior to paying. I wouldn't recommend using this business and would avoid...

I have NEVER been more dissapointed! Ordered over $300.00 worth of food for a birthday get together with family. It said authentic German... We were so looking forward to it all. Brezel is no comparison to an authentic one. The dough is not only incorrect but tasted sweet like a cake-bread. The consistency stale which ends up sitting in your stomach like a hard ball. The large brezel not even baked inside, raw hard dough and seeing its made with yeast, a real health concern. The pastry of the sausage rolls,/ pies is nothing like it should be and the taste of the meat over floured(?), definitely not Gulash as advertised. The bread rolls had a nice filling, chicken, ham, beef, but no one asked for hot sauce on any of them. The rolls themselves, old and stale, not an authentic German roll at all. The beesting, dry and stale and the vanilla cream nothing authentic about it. Not sweet enough, not enough if it. More like a sponge cake with some mixture slabbed in between. No love involved there. We all tried it and ended up throwing it in the bin!! Not edible. This store must have new owners and bought the rights to the owners name I would suggest. Definitely not good advertisement for the previous German owner. I am German, worked in a bakery and made Brezel, german cakes and bread / bread rolls, etc. If this bakery was in Germany it wouldn't last one day. Never again! Do yourself a favour, spend your...

This is a tough one. The cake itself was amazing. It looked phenomenal, so well crafted it was almost a shame to ruin. Tasted great too. It was was really well received. Could not rate higher.

Too bad it almost didn't happen. We ordered and paid online, arranged to pick up from the store in Taringa, went to go collect but the order got lost at their external bakehouse and didn't exist in store when we went to pick it up. To their credit (and a few phone calls) they were able to assure us it ready first thing the next morning. While we were waiting, more customers arrived that looked to be in the same position.

Accidents happen and that's fine, but from what we gathered, this wasn't isolated and it happens regularly.

If it wasn't for Maya. Maya needs a raise. Throw in a delivery vehicle too. She offered to pick up the cake from the shop at 5:30 the next morning, deliver it to my shop in Mansfield by 6, and then go all the way back- all on her day off. Look after her because they don't make them like her anymore.

Your staff are taking the fall and the abuse for your mistakes and are then having to pick up the pieces. Stop letting them down. Hospitality is hard enough, stop giving customers reason to get mad at your front of house.

Cake was amazing, overall experience - can't really recommend.

Its a catch 22. You MIGHT get your cake and if you do it will be...

I’d heard this place had “gone downhill” but thought I’d give it a go anyway. I’ve been here on and off over the past twenty years. Came on Mother’s Day morning before 9am. Bought 2 x Brezel, a loaf of Carraway Sourdough, and a Poppyseed Danish. Quality across all was excellent. The Brezels were in my handbag in a paper bag for 12 hours, so not ideal by then but still good. Danish and bread were awesome. Prices could come down a smidge. I left thinking “That was a lot.” So maybe I was overcharged, or maybe I don’t recall clearly. Staff member who served me seemed annoyed/tired, and forgetful, but service in itself was fine. Would 100% return for a loaf of fresh sourdough, or a selection of danishes.
