I like Crust Pizza. It just tastes like they use better quality ingredients than other chains. And they have good vegan options. BUT not all Crust Pizza stores are equal. I drive 20+ minutes to Taringa. If The Grange Crust wasn't twice the distance for me, I'd go there as I did when I lived on that side of the city - it just seems like they care more; their pizzas look better, are ready on time and additional instructions on an order are followed.
The Taringa store seriously need to lift their game on these criteria. Most times when I order pick up from Taringa, about 20 minutes is the suggested timeframe. I arrive just over 20 minutes later and watch as the server finds my order docket at the make station. Then I'm told "It should be ready in about 10 minutes." Um, no. It SHOULD be ready already. (If I'm lucky, it might’ve just gone into the oven.) Also, compared to Grange, their pizzas somehow look a bit drab... and that space for extra notes when ordering (like allergy / dietary requirements or preferences) - yeah, they don't read that. I've repeatedly asked them to do the simple thing of NOT opening the foil when cooking my garlic bread...
but they do. every. damn. time.
& if I wait for replacements, I swear they halve the oven time, and barely warm them to prove a point. No other pizza shop I've ever been to has opened the garlic bread foil. Why do you? More to the point, there's space on the order docket for customers to give extra instructions, why don't you read and follow that?
TLDR I've found Crust Pizza in general is the best of the pizza chains. Crust Pizza at Grange is excellent. Taringa gets a pass mark, but need to improve. That said I drive past a Pizza Capers, 2 Dominos and 2 or 3 Pizza Huts...
Read moreI came into the shop to order just a dessert Pizza, the Elvis Crumble. I have had this before and really enjoyed it previously. I got it home and realised what I had been given was a burnt, over cooked and horrible dessert pizza. It was so dry and hard it was only cut into 2 slices when I received it, instead of cut into 4 pieces. I tried to cut it myself and realised why the staff had only cut it into 2 slices, as it crumbled so much due to being overcooked. Please see the picture attached. I could not eat the pizza, I threw it away. I understand mistakes happen and the staff may have burned it, however they should have realised and made me a new one and never given it to me. Crust is supposed to be gourmet pizza place, and therefore I am happy to pay more but not for the poor quality i received on Friday. I could have just gone to Domino's and had a much better dessert than what I had on Friday at Crust. I contacted the Taringa Crust store to advise of my disappointment and sent photos but never got a response. So that is why I am doing this review. Would not go back, especially if they dont even respond...

We’ve been loyal Crust Pizza customers for years, but after tonight, we’re done. We placed our order with specific requests—extra garlic on herb and garlic squares, no olives on a supreme, and no sauce on a kid’s pizza. My wife even called to confirm. Despite all this, the pizzas arrived with none of our requests followed: no garlic taste, olives on the supreme, and sauce on the kid’s pizza. To make matters worse, everything was lukewarm at best.
To add insult to injury, my friend ordered the chicken pesto pizza, which was buried under a mountain of rocket. It looked like they emptied an entire bag of rocket from Woolworths onto the pizza—see the pic attached!
A staff member initially called to say they’d send a replacement kid’s pizza immediately, only to call back two minutes later, saying the manager couldn’t because they were too busy. This is the third time this month that our pizzas have arrived not hot and bland. We’re officially on the lookout for a new pizza place—Crust Pizza is no...
