Standards have dropped significantly; both on the quality of food and their service.
We had dinner here today - it took so many attempts to call the person with the iPad to put in our order. The whole restaurant heard us say “excuse me” but her, waiting at the service counter speaking to someone inside who was preparing the food. When she finally came to take the order, no word of acknowledgement but rather a very pissed off face that we had disturb her flow to place an order.
In between, someone wanted to switch tables because they came before us, was put in a tiny table for two which one chair was directly in the way of the hinges of those big windows. The patron sitting there was having to sit sideways to avoid knocking into the hinges. When they politely asked if they could change seats to the bigger table behind them, they were met with annoyance because the staff wanted to place them in yet another tiny table that hasn’t been cleared. It was already 7.10pm and logically no other big group is going to come through, even if they did, there were another two large tables for seating.
The fried rice that we had was greasy, and because they didn’t have prawns they asked if they could substitute it with squid, which we said yet. Half the squid were undercooked and the rice itself was under seasoned. The beef soup was heavily seasoned with so much msg that within just a couple of mouthful, one was already reaching for water due...
Read moreOur recent visit to Khoi Inala was, once again, a truly satisfying experience. This establishment has consistently delivered exceptional quality and flavour, never failing to impress us with its offerings. On this occasion, we indulged in the beef soup, which we believe is the perfect dish for the season—rich, hearty, and beautifully seasoned. It was a comforting and flavourful experience that left a lasting impression.
To complement the meal, we ordered the broken fried rice with pork, which proved to be an excellent pairing. The rice was perfectly cooked, with a delightful balance of textures and a savoury depth that elevated the dish. The pork was tender, well-marinated, and added a satisfying richness that tied everything together harmoniously.
This visit marks our more than tenth time returning to Khoi Inala, and each time, the food and service have consistently exceeded our expectations. The welcoming atmosphere, combined with the consistently high standard of cuisine, is what keeps drawing us back. We highly recommend this place to anyone seeking authentic, well-prepared dishes in a warm and reliable dining...
Read moreI thought I’d stop by for lunch by myself at 12.30pm. There were a few empty tables which at most places you could sit down first but I asked to make sure with peak lunch time and the waitress told me I had to line up and wait. There was no sign for that but I did line up behind 2 couples and for the next 15 minutes we watched them clear at least 5 tables and left them empty. When another waiter came round I asked again if I had to wait or could grab a table and after telling him it was me only, he led me to a table outside. I waited another 10 minutes before I asked for a menu at which point the waitress from before asked if I had waited in line. I was given the menu, ordered and then had to ask for the sauces myself.
The food was as good as any place around but the service, and the rudeness made the experience beyond disappointing. Unfortunately I won’t be returning given this experience and I will let my friends know to avoid it as well. As I said, the food was good but other places can be the same or better, but the...
