La Pizzeria Traditional Wood Fire Pizza — Restaurant in Brisbane City

My wife and I decided to stray from our usual pizza place and go a little further to try this one, for the first time last night. We ordered a family-sized Godfather. We thought the price was bit more top end at first, but we soon found out why: The pizza was HUGE and loaded with ingredients. We're still trying to finish it today while I type. In fact, given the size and weight of the pizza, the price actually turns out to be less than that awful, commercial place Fi and I call "Vomitoes Pizza". Next time we will get the regular-size between us, because they MEAN it when they say "FAMILY"-sized. I had to use two hands to carry the pizza box to the car.

The ingredients that they have sourced were also very impressive (and down-right delicious!). None of this fake-cheese stuff; It's woodfired and beautiful. The crust was fantastic. Cooked to perfection with LOVE.

We phoned ahead and was told a 50 minute wait (this was a Friday night) - We saw why when we came to pick up, because the place was just BUSTLING with business. And on that note I want to point out something else which impressed Fi and I about this business: The performance of the head chef (he might be the owner?) and his team were all working VERY hard, and the kitchen was well staffed with young people. We liked seeing this because the place clearly does it's bit for the community when it comes to giving young people a job - They were working hard, while gaining some good life-skills experience in the process.

A small woodfired pizza place, mostly takeaways but room for about 10-12 people to sit and enjoy the food, so we booked a table for 4 adults. The place was really busy with constant takeaways and various food delivery services, but the staff were very friendly and kept us informed each step of the process so we had an idea how long it would be until we received our food. We ordered 2 large and 1 standard pizza and all three were cooked to perfection and delicious. We couldn't eat it all so the staff gave us a box to take the leftovers home. We'd accidently left one of our bottles of drink on the table when we left but on the way to our car (the owner, I think it was) ran out to us and gave us our bottle. We ate the leftover pizza about 3-4 days later after warming it in the air frier and it was just as delicious as it had been on the night. Great pizza, great service... thanks...

Staff are friendly and service was fast on our visit. Parking off street in carpark out front and there are spots rear of building if you turn into side street. There are several tables and window bench seats. We ordered cheese and garlic and supreme pizza, which were both awesome. Cheesy garlic rated as one of the best ever for my daughter. For pizza dough puritans, you will be happy to know that they do make their own pizza dough, which makes a huge difference to texture and flavour. They also have a fridge there with some really nice desert options. Shop is a literally a couple of minutes from the Sandgate foreshore picnic areas and would be the spot to grab some food on the way down to the foreshore for a lovely sunset on the waterfront. This was our first visit, definitely...
