Welcome to Cut Corners Cafe! When you ask for something out of your burger twice, (Yes, twice!) just to make sure they don't put it in there because you don't like the taste, they still put it in there. I guess I should have asked thrice. And don't worry about them remaking it, Oh no, they can just take it out just like you could have. I'll start with the real review, bare with me.
When we entered the cafe we were handed 1 menu (There were three of us) and we were not offered more menus. Okay, fine. We just shared the menu. I ordered bacon and eggs on toast. I asked what kind of bacon they have because I don't like short cut bacon. He said it was streaky bacon. Lo-and-behold, I did not receive streaky bacon. You probably already guessed that, though. I also asked for crispy bacon, and it did not come crispy. The eggs were good. I was expecting sourdough bread, but was met with $1 woollies bread slices. I would pay more for sourdough. It's not about the price, it's about the experience. That's what I'm paying for.
My friend ordered the steak burger, and we asked for no beetroot twice. It came in the burger anyway, and when we brought it back to re-make it because my friend doesn't like the taste of beetroot, they instead took the beetroot out and gave it back with all the lovely beetroot drippings still on it. .... A++ Needless to say it wasn't very good.
My other friend ordered the chicken burger but she ate 1/3rd and said it was supbar. I tried it and thought the same. The bread on the burger was the only good thing about it.
I also want to point out I couldn't hear anything over the loudest espresso machine I've ever heard. The man taking our order had to shout and repeat himself several times as did I.
I personally didn't like the chips but my friend said they were not bad. The other friend said the aoli was really good, but it's not enough for us to return.
And yes, you should always ask if the coffee is takeaway or for...
Read moreI recommend the fruit smoothie in the warmer months and the coffee or hot chocolate any time. The meals are worth the trip over, for eat in or take away. For breakfast I can recommend the omelette, this is served with toast and a small salad. I can also recommend the fish, which can be ordered either fried, battered or crumbed and comes with chips and salad for lunch. An order of sweet potato chips can be ordered if you prefer. The latest on the menu are frozen gelato to help keep cool on a hot day. The staff are polite and friendly and when not to busy do stop for a brief chat. This has indoor and outdoor seating, you will however need to place your order inside. A dog friendly place outdoors only. Parking can at times be limited out front, however there is parking at the back of the shops. Open seven days a week 7am-2pm weekdays and 7-1pm...
