This is a weird review for me, as i, like most people, have obvious issues with McDonald's in general, however, this particular store has it's benefits. Open 24 hours. Now, let me just say, if it wasn't for the bacon and egg Mcmuffin, and the 24 hour breakfast menu, i wouldn't even bother writing this review. If i have time to wait, I'll even ask for no oil on the egg, bun or bacon. Sure, before this addition to the permanent menu, and it was late at night, ( after playing a gig , or up early for work) id find comfort knowing that this store was open. I think only once in 20 years of randomly going there outside mainstream hours have they been closed.
Location. Its located on the cnr of Creek Rd and Pine Mountain Rd. The latter being an awesome connection rd between Holland Park and Carindale/Carina Heights, and the former being an important north to south rd on the edge of the inner south of Brisbane. So chances are, you will drive past this maccas if you live in the area at least once every couple of days.
The staff. Always very polite and placing the customers needs before their own. I only really use drive through, but when i have gone inside, exact same experience customer service wise. Like any store with a high customer turn over, there is bound to be order mistakes from now and again. I feel that this store is quite apologetic and quick to 'fix' an incorrect order. Whether it be going back to the counter, back through the drive through or calling up as I'm too far away and don't have time to return to store, I've never had a problem with their 'return' policy.
Cleanliness and Covid measures. Strange times indeed. As i said, i don't go inside very often, but when i do, the toilets are routinely cleaned and the dining area tables are always cleared. I dont work for the department of public health, but as a customer, the store feels clean, and all the social distancing measures of the current ongoing pandemic have been addressed in a clear to understand and empathetic way.
The food. We all remember bad food experiences both public and private, and probably don't really notice the difference of franchised fast food from store to store. But i do. Only one McDonald's I've ever been to has beaten the general overall taste expected from their menu items, and that's their Coorparoo store. However, this is Carina Heights review. I've never had to return any food because it was ill tasting or not up to expectations to this store. I'm sure it's bound to happen to people every now again, but please read above to see how that issue would be addressed.
Cost of menu in general. McDonald's is expensive as you're paying for convenience firstly, and what should be a decent meal on the run secondly. The cost of items varies from store to store, and this store sits in the average inner city price range.
Overall. The pros definitely outway the cons at McDonald's Carina Heights. I will be continuing to frequent this store when required. Thanks for your efforts to provide a decent 'Maccas'...
Read moreThis is the worst McDonald's service, I have been to! If u r looking to get just basic standard orders, u will likely need to speak to the manager and even then, u will most likely not get a good experience!
I ordered a double quarter pounder meal with a fish filet on the side. I got cold fries and a cold fish filet that tasted like it had been sitting there for over 6 hours! I went thru the drive thru again and asked if they could make it fresh. I received my meal and there was a medium sized load of fries in my large fry container and they had forgotten my double quarter pounder. I went thru again and simply asked the now, angry looking staff member, for the proper large portion of fries as per my order and also for my large quarter pounder burger they forgot. I pulled up and got what I thought was my double quarter pounder. However, wen I got home, I found that instead of the double quarter pounder patties, they gave me a double quarter pounder with 2 pieces of cold and dry Angus beef patties! For those of u who know about Angus beef patties, they are the driest pattie on any McDonald's burger.
I called up the owner and told him my situation. He apologised and said he would send me a refund which should be in my mailbox within a day or 2. It's been over a few weeks and when I called I was told they knew nothing of it.
This is NOT the first time I have had n issue with this McDonald's. I have been to this McDonald's for over 10yrs and I kid u not, they have either forgotten n item in my order, or gotten my order mixed up or given me a flat soda, or forgotten cheese or put the wrong patties on it or blamed their incompetence on accidentally giving my order to the car just gone, and all the whole while treated me rudely simply because of their mistake n because I simply asked them to get my order right! It's not rocket science... n it shudnt be a crime nor shud I feel chastised for simply asking for basic standard of service and the correct meal I ordered!
This is the worst McDonald's staff and service ever!! Don't...
Read moreI ordered 3 cheeseburger happy meals , meat and cheese only on all 3 burgers. Drive through repeated it back to a T.
I had to pull into the waiting bay for 10 minutes and eventually got my order.
I got down the road when my children realised the burgers were not correct.
Since I wasn't too far, I did a U-turn and let the staff know through the drive through.
They were accommodating and sounded like they would be fixing the mistake.
Until I got to the collection window where the night manager wanted to see the burgers .. I showed her and she promptly went off to remake them.
The burgers got served back up to me nice and hot, thankfully I checked! (Never do I ever usually in drive through)
But same thing! Just meat and bun!!!? AGAIN.
The slip stated both times.. cheeseburger minus all the extras .... All staff were dumb founded like they've never heard of cheese or what this word cheese may look like.
Usually this manager seems to be clicked on when I have seen her previously but tonight there were literally no brain cells.
I asked where the cheese was and all she could say was yes it says cheeseburger.... I didn't know a slice of cheese was so hard to chuck on?
So after 2 attempts of drive through and a good 20 minutes wasted on lack of common sense.
Out of 6 cheeseburgers they made, only 1 eventually had cheese.
Are you all bored and just enjoy playing stupid games like this? I hope so cause if you're really that stupid I'm worried for people around you all.
Anytime from 2pm afterwards the staff are just down right brainless and blunt.
Nothing new, I've moved back into the area for the last 7 years and unfortunately there's more negative to say than positive at this specific Carina Heights McDonald's at Metropole.
Whoever owns this franchise store, it's over due...
