They gave us a refund—but that doesn’t excuse the absolutely horrendous service. Never again.
I’m not the kind of person who leaves one-star reviews lightly, but our experience with Piccolo Pizza Camp Hill was so outrageously bad that it deserves to be called out. Yes, they refunded us. But let me be crystal clear: the refund doesn’t undo the complete mess they made of our order or how terribly we were treated throughout the process.
We placed a simple pizza order. Just one pizza. We were told it would be ready in about 20 minutes. Cool, no problem. We planned our night around that. But what followed was over two hours of waiting—two bloody hours—with zero communication, zero accountability, and an attitude that basically screamed, “We don’t care.”
We called after the first hour of radio silence, and they told us the pizza was “on its way.” It wasn’t. That was either a flat-out lie or someone had no idea what was going on. We waited even longer, hungry and annoyed, only to call again and be told the order had been cancelled. Cancelled—without any notification. No text, no call, no email, no smoke signal. Just nothing.
When we asked why no one had told us, the staff couldn’t even pretend to give a damn. No sincere apology, no explanation, no basic courtesy. Just a cold, casual tone like this sort of screw-up is standard practice there. “Yeah, it was cancelled,” they said—as if we were idiots for even asking.
Yes, they did refund the money. But that’s the bare minimum when you don’t deliver the food someone paid for. The refund doesn’t erase the two hours we wasted. It doesn’t make up for being misled and dismissed. It sure as hell doesn’t fix the fact that this place clearly doesn’t respect its customers or take any pride in basic service.
Look, mistakes happen in hospitality. I get that. But how you handle those mistakes is everything. A sincere apology, a proactive update, a little effort to make things right—that’s what decent places do. Piccolo Pizza did none of that. They dropped the ball completely and couldn’t care less that they did.
I wouldn’t go back. Not even if they offered a free pizza and a handwritten apology. Because it’s not just about the food—it’s about how you treat people. And this experience made it painfully clear: Piccolo Pizza Camp Hill doesn’t value your time or your business.
There are too many other great pizza spots in Brisbane to waste your night on this place. Do yourself a favour and steer clear. Total disappointment from...
Read moreI placed an order with Piccolo Pizza in Camp Hill through Uber Eats for calamari, carbonara, and a Caprese salad. The experience was honestly one of the worst I’ve had with a restaurant in a long time.
First, I waited almost two hours for my order to arrive. When it did, there was no carbonara at all, and the calamari container was open with food spilled out. I understand that Uber Eats drivers can sometimes contribute to issues, so I contacted the driver. The driver explained that the restaurant didn’t give them any carbonara because they had run out, and told me to call the store.
When I called the restaurant, the staff were unprofessional and dismissive. The person on the phone was trying to talk to another worker at the same time and eventually handed the phone over to someone else, who claimed he packed the order himself and insisted there was “no way” he left anything out and he “remembers” packing the carbonara in the order with the reason for it being “ There’s no leftover food in the store so I definitely put it in there”
When I explained that the carbonara wasn’t there and that the driver had explained the situation of no carbonara in store, asking why the bag wasn’t sealed at all (especially since the calamari was open), his response was “So what do you want me to do? We’re trying to close” (Mind you that it was still an hour before the closing time shown on Google)
To make things worse, the Caprese salad was just appalling. This menu was one of the very few that had photos shown which displayed a decent amount of fresh tomato slices, basil, olive oil, pepper, and generous mozzarella pieces. What I received were slices of tomato, an amount that seemed to be from a single tomato drenched in oil, excessively peppered, and what seemed like mozzarella slices from maybe two bocconcini balls tiny pieces not from the big mozzarella as shown in the ad photo. Completely misleading and poor value for money.
Disgusting food and service. Won’t be ordering...
Read moreEvery year this pizza goes down a star for the lack of service and lack of consistency and lack of quality.... Such a shame. I try every once in a while to see if they have stepped it up and made the changes they need to, but it disappoints 80 of the time these day. 2hr delivery for a bad pizza that wasn't even the correct order and missing items. Tsk Tsk. Tsk Tsk. Just shut it down and don't embarass yourselves any more. Just downgraded to zero stars the half order of incorrect food we received was cold. And u get put on hold or hung up on everytime I call the restaurant. You know, your anly as valuable to the world as what you contribute, and piccolo contributes frustration and disappointed and...
