Very rude and unprofessional owner/staff! I had ordered a Samosa and Chettinad Chicken. The chicken was very delicious. It was beyond tasty. However, the samosas were nowhere close to an actual samosa. A samosa is supposed to have a crunchy covering on the outside and flavorful potato mixture on the inside. These samosas were soggy, bland from outside and bland chunks of potatoes on the inside. It was more like a poori stuffed with potato. When I politely asked him to take the samosa back because it was not a samosa, the owner (Rajan) seemed quite annoyed, as if it hurt his prestige. Later at the billing when I went happily to praise the yummy chicken dish he just banged the POS machine towards me and said that nobody has complained about his food in the last 20 years. And then he started creating a scene. He didn't even let me speak or share my good feedback about the other dish. Well, quite a rude person who is not willing to take criticism. After I left the restaurant, I checked the reviews and found that it has a lot of positive reviews online. However, I noticed that most of the reviews are from those customer who belong to non-Indian heritage. So, I understand that not many people would know how an actual Samosa would taste. Those reviews talk about naan and chicken based dishes which I agree are tasty. Nobody has provided a review on samosa.
Not a good experience at all. One should be ready to accept both good and bad feedback in a...
Read moreIf you're looking for a truly incredible dining experience, look no further than Raj Indian Restaurant in Jindalee. I recently had the pleasure of dining there, and I can confidently say that it deserves a solid five stars.
From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the restaurant's elegant decor and warm, inviting atmosphere. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making me feel right at home.
But of course, the real star of the show was the food. Every dish was bursting with flavor and expertly prepared with the freshest ingredients. I highly recommend trying the butter chicken and the lamb vindaloo - both were absolute showstoppers.
One thing that really stood out to me about Raj Indian Restaurant was the attention to detail in every dish. It's clear that the chefs take great pride in their work, and it definitely shows in the quality of the food.
And let's not forget about the drinks - the mango lassi was the perfect complement to my meal, and the wine list was impressive as well.
Overall, I can't recommend Raj Indian Restaurant enough. If you're in the mood for some delicious Indian cuisine and exceptional service, you simply have to check this place out. And if you're like me, you'll be planning your next visit before you've even left...
Read moreBland, tasteless mush. I may have a westerners palette but I at least have tastebuds.
I ate the paneer butter masala which despite its name was 90% potato. The potato didn’t do the dish any favours either as they were so over cooked that the potatoes had turned to mush and thickened the curry to the point where it was almost a paste and a flavourless one at best. Imagine eating orange coloured instant mashed potatoes with a hint of ginger.
Also ordered was a Butter Chicken which had more flavour (much more than the paneer) but was still very bland.
The naan was supposed to be cheese and garlic but was really just a warm, bland, chewy and soggy pancake with a sprinkle or garlic I could see but not taste. No cheese in sight.
The only good thing I can say about the order was that the rice was included (something that isn’t uncommon, however not all restaurants do it). They couldn’t even get that right though as the rice was brightly dyed orange and they only provided one per order, not curry. Even if you order 4 curries, you only...
