Decided to give this place a crack after seeing the rave reviews and promise of authentic pizza. Unfortunately the pizza was a big let down!
When taking our order, the wait staff asked what pizza we wanted and we said the Neapolitan style Margherita. They asked if we wanted it on a thin or deep pan crust. We were confused as the menu said the Neapolitan style pizzas all came with a hand stretched crust. We said just the regular crust for the Neapolitan pizzas. They then reiterated that we needed to choose between thin or deep pan. Feeling obligated, we chose the thin. When it came out the pizza did not have a hand stretched crust, it looked like something you could get at any pizza shop. The cheese was scalding hot and inedible for about 5min. The Roma tomatoes were cut into 1/8 chunks and were too hot and large to be appetising. The rest of the garnish was indistinguishable, a few flakes of basil and oregano at best. No fresh, whole basil leaves like you would expect on an authentic Italian pizza. The cheese and sugo sauce were nice once it cooled down, but not enough to save the pizza.
The pastas we ordered for mains were more enjoyable than the pizza, but not amazing. However the espresso martini my partner ordered was delicious, so kudos to the bar staff.
Prices were reasonable and it seemed like a very family-friendly place, but certainly not somewhere you want to go for a romantic dinner for 2.
I would have provided feedback on the night, but none of the staff asked how our meal was so I just paid and left. I received an automated email the following week asking for feedback which I replied to, but got no response....
Read moreWe’ve been here a handful of times and had good experiences, but unfortunately, today for my birthday was disappointing.
The visit started off poorly with dirty cups and plates. When we politely asked for new ones, instead of a simple apology like, "I’m sorry about that, let me get new ones right away," the staff member tried wiping the marks off with his bare hands and made excuses, saying, “There must not be enough chemicals in the dishwasher.”
It was just my husband and me dining. We ordered pulled pork fries, which were delicious, along with two pizzas that were both great. However, the buffalo wings were disappointing. I love buffalo wings, but these were drenched in far too much sauce for my liking, so I only ate a couple. When the owner came to clear our plates, he noticed I hadn’t eaten many and asked why. I explained it was just a personal preference about the amount of sauce. Instead of acknowledging my feedback, he became defensive, saying that they added more sauce because people used to complain there wasn’t enough. I told him it was all good, but he kept insisting we take them to-go, which I declined, explaining we still had pizzas to finish.
To my surprise, when he brought the pizzas out, he also brought a new batch of wings with the sauce on the side—despite being worried earlier about food waste. We didn’t ask for new wings, so we ended up boxing them just to throw them away later.
Throughout the experience, the owner was rude and defensive, making excuses instead of simply addressing concerns with good service. It felt like offering feedback hurt his ego, which made the whole experience...
Read moreThe pizza here is absolutely fantastic like really yummy stuff. However if you are having to take away think twice. I had to wait for about one hour and a half to have a single pizza. I spoke with every single employee to see what was happening. I am very observant and I saw my order was standing in about a tenth place and calculated watching how they delivered the orders. I counted patiently to my surprise that more than ten orders came out. It is too busy especially on Friday nights. The thing is that we called at 6:35 pm and they told us that approximately it was going to be ready in 45 minutes to what we said it was okay while we bought some stuff we needed. We arrived there 52 minutes later to my surprise that we had to wait the first 7 minutes then another 10 then another 20 and then 20 minutes more according to each of the team members I spoke too. And I watched the manager just saying it is Friday night what you expect. Seems he is interested only or focused only on the customers sitting at the restaurant. I felt ignored as no one offered me at least a seat. Even one of the guys was becoming a bit frustrated with me to the point that I talked to him and he understood my situation. Maybe the way to have taken away is calling every hour to see if your pizza is ready but it should not be like this. I think these guys don't have enough ovens and more time management. It is a nice pizza but let me tell you when your 4 year old and wife want pizza this is not the place to go to. I won't recommend having a take away...
