First time visit here based on our location of the day and Google reviews to put our Malaysian taste buds to work. We ordered the chicken satay, seafood laksa and char kway teow. TL;DR: not the best satay and average Malaysian flavours. Not the best but not the worst either.

Satay was underwhelming. Meat wasn't marinated well and flavors just didn't feel right. Probably due to the cooking method and meat preparation. Just wasn't enough smokiness and spice/aromatics coming through the chicken. For a place that has a name meaning 'happy satay', this dish was definitely not a stand out.

Seafood laksa was above average. Flavours in the broth was good, with a balance of heat, creaminess and depth. Lots of seafood variety in the bowl (prawns, mussels, pineapple squid and fish cakes). Only negative was that parts of the mussels and squid were cold.

Char kway teow had the authentic flavours and seasoning but noodles were not fried well. Found lots of rice noodles stuck together and not covered in the sauce. Again, pineapple squid was cold on the inside. No sign of heat from chillis so if you're after a little spiciness, request chillis to be added.

Overall, attentive service but prices were slightly on the higher end. Menu layout was confusing and was not very easy to navigate. E.g. Repeating photos, fonts and colour schemes.

Location was hard to find for new patrons as there are renovations happening at the moment. Tip: its on the left most edge of the plaza (towards the...

Only the best Malaysian/Chinese food we've eaten. It's our Wednesday date night restaurant. The staff are amazing, youre treated like respected clients. Nothing is too much trouble.

BYO, also licensed. Extensive menu. Which we are years on, still working our way through. The chicken satay skewers are succulent and char grilled served w the BEST peanut sauce. I'm still trying to get the recipe!

Beautiful ambience, lovely atmosphere. You feel like you've walked into a posh Asian restaurant in Singapore, greeted at the door and shown to your table. Very dignified.

They have 2 dining areas. Inside which is great, or in the beautifully decorated outdoor area, with hanging red lanterns, soft lights, low music and Asian decor and plants. We held our office Christmas party there, just recently. Great service, so much food and a good time was had by all.

They cater to couples, families, groups large and small. Busy take away service as their meals travel very well.

As its at the end of the Woolies shopping centre, there is more than ample parking. No stairs.

If you're looking for an intimate dinner location, a celebration, or a family outing where you can trust the service to be excellent and the food to be delicious and different, please try Satay Ria.

This is not a food review as we left before ordering anything cuz the service was shocking from the get-go.

It was a busy night and we didn't have a booking but both me and my partner were happy to wait for the next table to finish. After over 15 mins of waiting, we chose the table we wanted and continued to wait while they finalising setting up the table.

Two new customers came in & started conversation with the lady who looks like the owner and just took the table that was given to us. We looked at the waiter and all she said was 'that's ok - it's the same anyway'. We asked the staff who served us and she apologised and said it's busy. But when i said to her that you knew that we were first and that was our spot (let alone been waiting for 20mins) you should've said something, she had nothing to say. We decided to leave the restaurant after that.

Pretty disappointed to say the least after reading the good review prior coming here. Worst possible first impression and we...

This restaurant has a lot of potential, especially with its excellent service and friendly staff. I’ve been here twice, and while the experience has been underwhelming overall, the food never improves. Some dishes, like the prawn chips being stale and the chicken satay skewers had a texture that felt a bit off, possibly from being frozen before cooking. The other dishes were okay but didn’t stand out in a memorable way. That said, the drinks were enjoyable, and with a bit more focus on fresh ingredients, this place could be truly fantastic. The warm and attentive service already makes it a welcoming spot, and I’d love to see the food quality match that level of excellence. Sadly, both times have left us feeling uneasy so we won’t be returning unless the menu upgrades.

Went for dinner for a birthday celebration with some weekly regulars. Was instantly impressed with the friendly staff. Incredibly efficient staff which made for a relaxing and pleasurable experience. Dining on the chicken satay skewers for entree - the satay had a strong peanut flavouring without it being too thick or rich. Mains courses were shared - Kung Po Chicken was light and refreshing with fresh vegetables and extra cashews, the Roast Duck was crispy and fat free - beautifully rendered, served with pancake Paper for a DIY. The salt and pepper prawns were super light and very fluffy. Served with a side of deep fried finely shredded broccolini with the stems removed - light, crispy and a great addition to the protein. Highly recommended 🥢
