Taj Bengal Indian Restaurant — Restaurant in Brisbane City

An hour ago, I had a very bad experience in this restaurant Taj Bengali Indian Restaurant. The waitress was nerd in her answers when I asked about the special order that offer in the list. But, that was not everything, the worst came when she communicated badly and unlogically at the time of payment, as she eagerly wanted to earn more money than what it was stated in the menu. I instructed her that I ordered the same dish few weeks ago and paid less than what she asked but she insisted to gain the more money for no reason. Besides, she strangely said that other restaurants don't split the bill, which was another lie as we tried countless number of restaurants without any issue to split the bill. We asked her to explain why she is requesting us to pay more than what was advertised in their menu, but her answer was very weird, which was "it depends" that she kept repeating it anytime we ask her to clarify the reason. We even told her that you are going to lose reputable customers but she seemed not even interested to work nicely with potential customers. Certainly, she has very low communication skills and her servicing was so bad. She doesn't know how to treat customers in a correct manner.

Finally, we aren't happy with this kind of cheating that you decieved us taking more money than your rights. We aren't going to recommend it to anyone at all and most importantly, since you are a muslim, I have to remind you with important verses in Quran, not to cheat someone else again:

Let me start by saying Taj Bengal do seriously awesome curries and we are BIG fans! This review is more for the doordash delivery option, which, we've discovered, is less than good. Pretty shabby in fact. Unfortunately, during these Covid-19 times, some of us need to use a delivery service. We usually have opted for doordash as they seem to be the underdog to menulog and deliveroo delivery services. Unfortunately we have had issues with our last 2 deliveries - both times I've received SMS that our driver is about to deliver, only to check on the tracking map and find the delivery person 4 streets away. After getting an SMS that our delivery was next, we went to the door to await delivery but no one came. Went back inside, then received an SMS from the doordash driver (see attached pic) he'd delivered, not to the front door, but around the corner - where you wouldn't expect for it to be delivered and certainly not within plain sight.

So. If you want a delivery option (and Taj Bengal do 7 day delivery service, but only their OWN DELIVERY PEOPLE ON WEEKENDS - menulog, deliveroo and doordash Monday to Friday - I would strongly recommend using anyone OTHER THAN DOORDASH!

Addition/amendment to review: I agree with Taj Bengal - my original 3 star rating was harsh and NOT directed at them but at doordash. Unfortunately I tried addressing the problem with doordash and could not make any customer feedback. I have since deleted by account with them and will certainly not be using them ever again. We will, most definitely, still be supporting Taj Bengal as we love...

I have toured this country over and over. I’ve been to Sydney and Melbourne at least 100 times each as well as lots of towns and states etc. I’ve been ALL over Australia! I’ve tried curry everywhere all over Australia! The Taj Bengal is definitely THE best curry restaurant in the whole of Australia. Yes I said it and I mean it. And that’s coming from a fat man. And as a fat man (that became that way from eating too much curry) I think that it strengthens my opinion. If you want watery Australian style cheap curry then this is not for you. This curry is not that. At the Taj Bengal, quality is what makes this Indian food so special and divides it from any other restaurants in Brisbane if not Australia. I’ve been eating here for 16 years now!

Try Saagwala and Ceylon flavours- favourites! Try one of the awesome vege dishes also! Try something different often, you’ll be surprised at the different flavours and possibly find a new favourite! Dine in sometime too with some friends and share those flavours! I can’t thank the Taj Bengal...
