Perhaps leave your shopping centre cafe expectations at the front door, because this place serves some nice food and coffee which was delivered with a smile. Made a quick stop for lunch, so what better than to try a fish burger and an intriguingly large unnamed Croquette from their food cabinet at the front, which was informed it was vegetarian. Both the Burger and Croquette with salad were very nice, fish was also nicely cooked. Only negative was the lack of zest in the tartare sauce. The coffee tasted good and milk texturing was on point given it was almond milk which can be hard for some Baristas. It was presented in a classic glass with handle which is fantastic and to top it all off, it came with a complimentary biscuit for dessert. Friendly service and priced adequately for a shopping centre Cafe. Decor outside is a little plain, and which the car park isn't the best view, you can sit there and enjoy a coffee or meal while staring at the trees or plants in the distance. FYI, birds can also visit you near the tables, but tend to wait until you're finished if staff don't clean dirty tables fast enough or you drop something. Thanks for the nice food, chefs and good coffee, barista. Keep up the great work.

I have come to Taste the Aroma many times since they first opened at the Wynnum plaza location when I was still in school. My family and I would go regularly for the delicious food, great range, variety of daily specials, and very good price point. Now I’m 25 and it’s a favourite date location for me to take my partner. In all the years I’ve frequented Taste the Aroma I’ve never once had a bad experience. My partner and I are both men and we’ve never felt anything but welcomed and accepted at this establishment. They have QR code ordering now but I always prefer to order directly from the counter because the customer service I receive is always exemplary and starts the meal off on a very high note. Service is speedy even when they’re really busy and I honestly have nothing negative to say at all. We went for breakfast today and the portions were generous, prices were great, and the experience was overall a 10/10 for the both of us, as always. I was telling him how much I love this cafe/restaurant when it occurred to me to leave a review, so here I am :) I would recommend Taste the Aroma to anyone and everyone and will be returning many many times!

The lady who served me was very friendly and helpful. Even though it was busy she took her time to help me with any questions I had. However, the food and drink weren’t good. The food is old fashioned. None of it tasted fresh but was processed, especially the sausage which was a steamed processed sausage… similar to a hot dog. It was literally grey. Huge servings but if you like fresh ingredients and house made hollandaise etc then this place is not it. My drink was served in a take away even though I asked for a cup and dine it. The milk was too hot which burnt my tongue and the chocolate itself was just gross. I saw the barista make coffees and she used the spoon technique which doesn’t create a good coffee. The menus are filthy and need an upgrade, especially with the amount of rust on them. All this place needs is some care, attention to detail and skilled baristas.
