Wynnum Tavern — Restaurant in Brisbane City

Organised a 60th Birthday Dinner the other week with the help of Robbie and his team which was a resounding success !! Went with the own Menu choices for guests plus some assorted entree trays for starters that was well received. Feedback on the food was delicious, filling, well presented and served hot at the same time which was impressive for 25 meals.

We decorated as Birthday Cake table with tea/coffee provisions off to the side. Its just a nice space to have a gathering with a large bar area and accommodating staff who ensured the evening flowed effortlessly without incident.

I was so impressed with the venue and staff that I'm having another Party at the same venue for my "work family" this coming weekend and expecting a similar result. Thanks again to Robbie and his staff for making my birthday celebration such a memorable one !

Party NO 2 : Lunch Platters on the Terrace

Had another party at the tavern with my work crew to celebrate my 60th Birthday yet again !! Booked the outdoor terrace and some indoor tables to cater for 50 adults and 17 kids inc 3 newborns. The adjoining kids room was a hit with smaller children who could be supervised by parents whilst socialising with other guests.

As you would have it there was another "sit-down" meal function in the room at the same time which delayed our platter run by about 45 mins and they weren't delivered every 15-20 mins as promised. However when the backlog of meals was cleared the platter run got its legs and was well received by young and old. Served hot with plenty of variety for all.

I had a theme cake out on the terrace and a tea and coffee station to the side which wasn't really utilised at all by this younger crowd. I also was permitted to bring my own music to set up out on the terrace, so listening to "eighties hits" on a lazy sunday afternoon with friends was a nice touch.

Thanks again to Robbie, Scott and all the crew at the Tavern for their efforts at making everything run smoothly despite the initial food delays which was from no fault of their own.

If I it wasn't for the service of the waitresses I would want to give negative stars.

When we walked in the first thing my sister said was 'it smells like a toilet' I don't know what you're cleaning your alcove with but it smells like a public toilet after a bucks night.

I went for lunch today with my son, husband, niece, sister and mother. My sister is coeliac and was told that there would be a half hour wait for her pasta (how the hell does that even happen) we were there for a catch up but thought what the hell. My nieces food came out in good time with the garlic bread. We started to get annoyed after waiting 45 minutes and seeing many orders that were placed 20 minutes after our own walk by so I went up to check. Suddenly our food was ready immediately.

My husband wants me to say that his American schintzal was amazing (and it was) my sisters gluten free carbonara without mushrooms came out swimming in mushrooms and with chicken that felt like glue when you chewed and my beef burger was cold and the patty was dry.

By the time our meals came there was no point in complaining as my 6 month old was starting to crack it and my 10 year old niece was bored. We all missed out on seeing extended family up for the weekend because of a below average experience.

Your wait staff are incredible but your kitchen...

Nice place but the staff we had were terrible... at the start of service, 11:30am, there was only 1 staff member to be found and she was on the bar... she did not serve people in the order they arrived... she served 2 people that arrived while I was waiting and then told me to go to a different part of the bar to place my order then served the person behind me and then served me... she had no idea how to use the computer and, from when I got up from the table to placing the order, it took 10 minutes and we were on a timeline as my partner had to go to work and we only ordered 1 share entree and 2 mains... the food was really good however the share entree arrived with no share plates, no cutlery and no serviettes and when the mains finally came mine was wrong... which was probably the girl who took the order fault and not the kitchen... then our dirty entree plate was left on the table while we ate but it was removed about half way through... because of the delay in ordering and the meal mess up my partner had to leave and I was left finishing...
