The Java Lounge Paddington — Restaurant in Brisbane City

Just the loviest local cafe located in the very vibrant area of Paddington. Plenty of locals (and their puppies) gather here for morning breakfast. This is one of my fav pit stop cafe when I travel between works. The coffee is consistently amazing. When I do needed a quick nibble, I love their savoury muffins (great infill varieties and always served with condiment). Their scramble eggs are amazing as well, very fluffy and plenty of flavour.

And the staff is always wonderful and polite, whether it is the management or the counter staff, just a very relax crew. Actually, I should make a very special shout out to one of their waitstaff Olivia. She is absolutely your friendliest neighbourhood barista. And she makes fabulous breakfast recommendations whenever I feel like a detour from my regular savoury muffins…ahahahhaha. I was absolutely delighted with her Veggie Bagel suggestion this week…I must try that one again :D

Excellent service, friendly staff and great food. A lovely little cafe however some of the customers are rude. My friend and I went there to catch up yesterday and as a we were preparing to leave a man approached my friend and said "Does she know she talks too loudly? The whole cafe doesn't need to hear your conversation, her voice is that loud." There were only 4 people in the cafe including my friend and I, if you want somewhere quiet to go why go to a cafe where there will definitely be noise? The experience was very disheartening and ruined the rest of our catch up so we immediately left. I had to comfort my friend as soon as we were outside because she started to cry. Food was fine but the service felt like we’d interrupted some sort of organised tantrum.

One waitress trucked through with a smile but everyone else seemed not so much to have woken up on the wrong side of the bed but awoken to discover that their bed had been stolen and they’d accidentally slept in an old car filled with out of work troubled snakes.

It’s not a budget cafe either and so it sticks in the craw a bit to be charged good money and be held in gross contempt.
