Very busy suburban bar but really good to see a local place so popular. The system of ordering, with apparently 2 points of service at the bar (and a window through to the side beer garden), becomes chaotic when everyone tries to order food and drinks at the same time. We marvelled about this, why does everyone in Brisbane need to order their meal at 6.30pm on a Saturday night? Anyway it wasn’t unpleasant as everyone was relaxed, and got to watch a lot of cocktails being constructed. By 7.30pm, there was a much clearer run ;) there is more dining space than appears, with the front patio, inside by the bar, the side beer garden but don’t forget to check out the back. The menu has an Asian fusion vibe. I ordered a bowl of dumplings for the kids, who never got a chance as the adults gobbled them, highly...

Don’t look further for a suburban chill session! The team behind The Woods have some serious street credit in the Brisbane craft beer scene, and the kitchen cranks out some of the tastiest pub mains north of the river! The attention to detail is really evident, the exclusive beer ranges, plant based meal options and rotating menus that provide new experiences on every visit! If you’re in the area, and haven’t tried this place - there is simply nowhere else you should go ahead of this joint! If you’re a craft beer lover and want to escape the hustle of the overcrowded inner city locations, or want some exclusive NZ drops - venture out on the train.. you won’t be...

What can I say but what a lovely surprise!! We stopped by for an unplanned lunch last Friday, 7th June, and was met by Cory (plaid shirt and beard). Seated inside as it was a bit chilly and it was a lovely setting. Food was delightful. The calamari and Burrata were tasty and very filling. And the Burger put me over the edge for lunch. Chased by some South Australian reds, it made for a great lunch. I will be popping back in to taste the new seasonal beer, and all I can add was top notch service front and kitchen and Cory is a real legend because his hospitality is second to none. Keep it up when we return for dinner, I imagine it will change to 5 stars...

The Bothy - Mitchelton’s Hidden Gem You enter via a sliding door within The Woods Bar, Mitchelton to a dimly lit secret world of ‘Little Scotland’ With whisky bottles adorning the bar walls and waiters dressed in kilts, this is a great place for a wee toddy But if you want to make a night of it, you can’t go past their hearty dinner menu of mouth watering beef, chicken and fish dishes that will have you singing their praises Make a booking soon. Ben and his team will transform you back to the old country. With good conversation and laughter while they pour you Scotland’s finest beverages

Live locally and have dined in and had takeaway a number of times in the past and have always loved the food. The last two times (both takeaway) I was greeted by the front of house server (could not identify her by name but recall she had an accent) and found her to be very rude. Last time I ordered take away I was told 20 minutes but waited 45 and found the food less than ordinary, in particular the frickles were soggy and the serving size was appalling. I think we'll give Woods Bar a miss from now on.
