My family and I recently visited Zeitoon restaurant, and it was an absolute delight. From the moment we stepped through the door, we knew we were in for a treat. The highlight of my experience was undoubtedly the Zeitoon's Special Family Plate. A true feast for the senses, this generously portioned platter showcased the restaurant's commitment to authentic Afghan Persian flavours. Each component, from succulent kebabs to fragrant rice, was a masterpiece in its own right, creating a symphony of tastes that delighted my palate. One dish that stole the show for me was the Mantu. These delicate dumplings were a revelation, filled with a tantalizing blend of spiced ground meat and topped with a yogurt sauce that added a perfect balance of creaminess. The Mantu at Zeitoon truly stood out as a testament to the chef's skill and dedication to crafting dishes that transport diners to the heart of Afghan cuisine. Equally impressive was the Qurma, a dish that elevated traditional flavours to new heights. The rich, aromatic sauce enveloped tender pieces of meat, creating a harmony of spices that left me craving more. Beyond the exceptional cuisine, Zeitoon offered an atmosphere that perfectly complemented the dining experience. The cozy ambiance provided a warm and inviting backdrop for a delightful meal. The restaurant's attention to detail in decor and lighting added to the overall charm, creating a space that felt both intimate and culturally immersive. The staff at Zeitoon were a shining example of hospitality. Their friendly and welcoming demeanour added a personal touch to my day, making me feel like a cherished guest. The attentive service and genuine smiles from the staff contributed significantly to the overall positive experience. I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking a memorable and delicious dining experience.

The restaurant was amazingly nice, clean and luxury. The prices were really fair and nice due to the good quality and quantity of the food. They also gave us a free soup at the start which was absolutely nice. The staff were extremely nice and welcoming. The drink that was a special drink (kefir glass) was really good and tasty. The photos in the menu were just like the food and drink. Amazing delicious gorgeous food with a fresh bread made in the shop which was delicious and they gave it to us even tho we didn’t ask for it. The marinate was amazing and the taste of the food. Really amazing I will be coming back here and I do recommend it. The restaurant was so positive and it gave us so much energy with the beautiful music that was playing. Overall it was really amazing and I will be coming back here it was better than all the Iranian restaurants I have been in Brisbane and Gold Coast

It’s my first time having my lunch here today. Their free hot soup is absolutely a highlight, especially on such a winter day. The soup is free, but rich in flavour. Really considerate service. Ordered Shirazi salad and Koobideh Kebab. Their Koobideh Kebab is two skewers grilled minced lamb kebab served with saffron rice. Some Persian restaurants’ Koobideh kebabs are made of beef, but I prefer lamb. The Koobideh was so delicious. I tried it separately with naan and saffron rice. It’s just beautiful. And Shirazi salad is definitely the best mate of Koobideh. The waitress is friendly and helpful. Thx. Their shop is next to a Muslim grocery and a halal butchery. It’s pretty convenient to buy some stuff or halal meat by the way.

On the 15th of July 2022 a gathering of 20 were assembled to celebrated a dearly departed person with a memorial meal. For those who were unable to attend the Townsville funeral.

From the onset the service and lack of respectfulness was evident surrendered to a lack of service or hospitality. Etiquette was lost to a sense that was quite evident that our booking was unwanted with not a single smile or cordial gesture.

Service was dealt in a frozen lack of any warmth or joy. Frankly the atmosphere could be cut with a.knife. Ugly.

Needing to ask for water and being stared down was offensive rude and frankly insulting.

To add insult too an already evident inefficient and lack lustre front of house one of the party members was bringing out the food.

Given there being another similar table theirs received full front of house of service with no person seen asking for the appropriate plate to accommodate the course.

One of a party removing some of the flowers for the widow unfortunately a small vase was broken to wit a $15 fee was charged. Given our table had lack of courtesy service or hospitality I ponder if a credit for lack of service should have offered. Perhaps not.

No dessert or tea as the table was being dismantled was intensified by the insulting slur "this is not a park" a crude rude and highly inflammatory given our Afghani cousins on the other table enjoyed both sufficient and excellent service with no such expectation or lack of basic etiquette whereas no such etiquette nor kindness addressed the horrible service delivered in an stoic almost expectation that we should grin and bear.

My partner and I arrived early and were told we had to wait outside in the cold air and as a academic I found challenging at that point the lack of courtesy.

As we were still completing our meal and without warning were basically shown the door.

In summary this is the only negative review I have given and one that will remain both insulting and without doubt our treatment seemed premeditated with the apparent inability to cater for large numbers.

An exacerbated night of lack lustre or professional front of house service delivered without excellence the man taking the concerns whom I assume was the chef showed evident hair net or cap.

The pity is the food is a good example of this cuisine.

Why the booking was taken? doesn't diminish both the lack of duty and the ignorant treatment of those gathered to pay their respect to a dear person recently departed.

Your intense rude and lack of hospitality will never be forgotten.

If anyone from this establishment wishes to challenge I will be more than happy to accommodate the defence these comments.

They are given without prejudice better than the treatment and the omissions served out on Friday 15th July 2022.

Disgraceful.

Rude

Ignorant service.

A horrible experience one that will never...

The food is phenomenal, honestly some of the best kabab I’ve ever had. I came here a year earlier when I came on holiday in Brisbane and decided I had to come again. Last time, the service was great, the manager was super nice and made sure to accommodate us even with our relatively large group. This year we had a larger group and the manager was still just as nice and the food was as good as I remembered it. Unfortunately, our experience was no where near as happy, simply due to our waiter. At what point are we supposed to enjoy our food when an hour into the wait, when we ask how much longer we need to wait, she tells us we could leave if we wanted? 40 minutes into the wait we were told that they don’t have any of the joojah kabab left and that we must change our order. And then when we reordered she brought a wrong order, instead of agreeing, she told us what we had ordered and tried to swap around another person in the group’s order telling us we ordered wrong. The manager had to step in and fix the order, and when she brought the correct food, she gave us stink eye when walking away. When we were trying to pay for our food, she kept interrupting us when we were trying to split the bill and tell her who ordered what. When leaving, the manager came and apologized because we had a very long wait, although to be fair they were very busy. In the end our experience was completely soured by the waiter, I don’t think I will return while this waiter is there. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone if that waiter...
