We had a wonderful dining experience at Jao Jorm Thai Restaurant! The Tom Yum soup was a standout — perfectly spicy and full of flavour, just the way it should be. We also tried the Beef Massaman curry; it was tasty, but a bit too sweet for our taste — with slightly less sweetness, it would’ve had a perfect balance. The beef pieces were quite small (around 4 to 5), so a bit more would make it feel more satisfying and affordable. Another highlight was the fried whole fish with Thai sauce — absolutely delicious, fresh, and beautifully cooked. While we wished it was a bit larger for the price, the flavour made up for it. The staff were friendly and helpful, and there’s a really welcoming vibe to the place. It’s clearly a local favourite — fully booked on weekends — so we definitely recommend booking in advance to avoid missing out. There are both indoor and outdoor seating options, which adds to the comfort of the dining experience. Parking is available down the road, making it convenient even on busy nights. We’re already looking forward to coming back to try more dishes from their tempting menu!

This restaurant deserves 5 stars. What a surprise to find this restaurant in Moorooka! The service was great (very attentive) & the food (wow)! The menu is different to other thai menus. They've made it unique yet it still has the usual thai favourites on there. The presentation of the food was also a nice surprise. They do take out as well as eat in. We choose to sit outside. My partner tried the soft shell crab & the BBQ duck (he loved both dishes. In fact we forgot to take a pic of the duck because he dug into it so quickly). The skin was super crispy! And I had the yellow curry with coconut rice. The best one I have tried! It had eggplant & pumpkin in which was a nice change to "just potato" like other Thai restaurants do. Impressive new restaurant in Moorooka! Eat here. You won't regret it.

This was really good. Our first try of this establishment and definitely not the last one. For a family of 3 we ordered tom kha, fried rice with prawns, pad thai with chicken and fruit curry duck (just wanted to try more...and we like to eat). We are full and half of it is still not done. So portions are generous. I would say that the price is fair, but my main regret this time was, that for such price I would like more duck in the curry. Considering that you weren't shy even with prawns in other dishes, this amount of duck is disappointing. The place itself is quite small, although there are plenty of tables outside. Gonna be noisy with the road being so close. The staff is very polite and smiley. Good on ya and see next time.

I was the fourth person to arrive for a booking someone else made for six people. After waiting twenty minutes we had to flag down a server to order. Then, I waited an hour and 10 minutes for Pad Thai, which was not nearly as good as previous times I have ordered here. It was a bit goopy. The wait staff did not apologise for the delay, even when I went up to query the order after an hour.

The worst part was, all four of us at the table were charged corkage for a bottle of wine only two people drank, and they didn't even bring an ice bucket. I can appreciate that sometimes places get busy, but if there was a delay we could have been warned. Also I noted heaps of other tables ordered and received food, suggesting our order might have been forgotten. This used to be a favourite local Thai place of mine, but I'm glad it is not the only option around.

Edit to respond: thank you for acknowledging the slow service. I wouldn't have felt the need to leave a negative review had anyone done so while we dined.

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume all staff simply failed to hear us when we:

  1. asked for all the food at the same time when ordering.
  2. notified waitstaff the other two customers would not be coming.
  3. verbally questioned the staff as to why the entire party of four was charged corkage when we only had two wine glasses for the 2 people who had wine.

By the way, it is a bold and inaccurate assumption that I finished the pad thai because it was so amazing. I arrived hungry and then waited 90 minutes in total for my dinner to arrive.

It is great that you, (presumably our server that night?) had plenty of time to watch me when I finally got the chance to eat as the restaurant was closing down. But it would have been a much nicer dining experience if you did not stare at me while I ate. Regardless, I would not have left a bad review if you had found the time to apologise for the extreme delay at any point that evening, instead of being extremely rude when I flagged you down after over an hour to politely ask if my meal had been forgotten and then overcharged us for corkage when...

(Old review) "Order online is available which is very convenient. Tried several food, I think the taste by Jao Jorm is in top 3 n Brisbane wide. Highly recommended." Been two years since the first review, now they're tremendously recommended. If you're new in Moorooka nearby and hungry now, going visit their. It is a must-do.

This restaurant got managed the pandemic successfully and is now solidly settled as a Moorooka local star. I tend not to be an avid fan of any business but do visit Jao Jorm every week, it's more than hundred times since the review. Kind service is fundamental which isn't even talkworthy. Within 0% of my own perspective, Jao Jorm's food is objectively and gastronomically DELICIOUS. That's a certain truth. Delicious. I have been uncoundtable number of Thai cuisines in Brisbane with one hope of seeking just a food that deserves my time and money, and Jao Jorm Thai Restaurant is one of the businesses where serves it. Especially in these pricy days, they spontaneously stayed in serving authentic food rather than turning the business into fancy dining like KINN. Look at the price on the menu then you will understand what I am talking about. Many thanks to Jao Jorm. Hopefully this business stays in this successful...

I am very disappointed in this restaurant, always come here on my lunch break from the hospital. I decided to switch it up and come here for dinner with a friend, the evening staff are absolutely disrespectful and non transparent. As soon as we arrived we were asked if we had a booking, when we replied no and if it was okay, the staff member completely ignored us and walked away, we were confused as to whether we were able to eat there or not? After a while I noticed she set up a table for us with barely any communication. When we sat down and ordered drinks, she was looking at us like we had committed a crime, showed no sense of customer service. We waited almost and hour and half and still did not receive our dinner whilst other people who were there after us received full meals. After I had asked what happened to our meal we were told ‘Do you still want to eat here?’. I was absolutely beyond shook as we were there for a total of 1hr and 45mins and were asked that question. The same staff member had reassured customers next to us that there was a delay in the food, she had maintained eye contact with me and proceeded to walk away knowing. Very poor customer service and I am actually very sad and will not be support this...
